Pù Lống Pass (Quỳ Hợp) suffers serious landslide.
Due to the impact of recent heavy rains and floods, the Pù Lống slope area on Provincial Road 532, passing through Liên Hợp commune, Quỳ Hợp district, has suffered serious landslides. Authorities are currently prohibiting trucks from using the road.
According to reporters, on October 8th, a landslide occurred on the Pù Lống slope in Lống village, Liên Hợp commune, Quỳ Hợp district, extending for nearly 20 meters, with a deep ravine below. The landslide encroached deep into the road, causing gabion baskets to collapse, posing a significant safety risk to vehicles such as motorbikes and cars that travel through the area daily.

Mr. Luong Van Nam, a resident of Lien Hop commune, said: "The Pu Long slope area is frequently affected by landslides during the rainy season. The authorities need to find a thorough solution to address this issue and ensure the safety of people traveling through this area."

Mr. Luong Khanh Tung, Vice Chairman of Lien Hop Commune People's Committee, said: "The Pu Long slope is currently experiencing serious landslides. The road is 5 meters wide, but in some sections, the landslides have encroached more than 2 meters inland. Therefore, the road surface could collapse at any time, making it very dangerous for vehicles to travel through here."

Currently, the Pù Lống slope area has been marked with warning signs indicating danger and prohibiting trucks. The commune has advised residents to absolutely refrain from driving trucks over the slope and to limit travel through this area because, in addition to landslides on the embankment, there are also landslides on the positive slope of the mountain in some locations.

According to Mr. Luong Khanh Tung, the Pu Long slope area is located on the vital Provincial Road 532, which is nearly 40 km long and passes through the communes of Lien Hop, Chau Tien, Chau Loc, Chau Hong, and Chau Thanh. Local residents hope that the relevant authorities will soon address the issue to ensure safe travel for the people.
