PV: Dear comrade! 2024 is the first year of implementing Resolution No. 46-NQ/TW dated December 20, 2023 of the Politburo on "Innovating and improving the quality of activities of the Vietnam Farmers' Union to meet the requirements of revolutionary tasks in the new period" (Resolution No. 46-NQ/TW) and the Resolution of the 8th National Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, Resolution of the 10th Congress of Nghe An Farmers' Union, term 2023 - 2028. Could you tell us about the outstanding results of the Union's work and the farmers' movement in recent times?
Comrade Nguyen Quang Tung:Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Association has more than 500,000 members, with the spirit of "Solidarity - Democracy - Creativity - Cooperation - Development", Farmers' Associations at all levels continue to have many innovations and creativity, close to the actual situation at the grassroots level and the aspirations of members.
Most notably, the Provincial Farmers' Association advised the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee to issue Plan No. 257-KH/TU to implement Resolution No. 46-NQ/TW dated December 20, 2023 of the Politburo on innovation and improving the quality of activities of the Vietnam Farmers' Association to meet the requirements of revolutionary tasks in the new period in accordance with the functions, tasks, and activities of the Association at all levels and the actual situation of the locality, aiming to create substantial changes, innovation, and improve the quality and effectiveness of the Association's activities and the farmers' movement, building a contingent of Association officials to meet the requirements of tasks in the new period and programs and projects to promote agricultural, rural and farmer development in the province.
The propaganda of the Party's guidelines, the State's laws and policies, the Association's resolutions and directives were implemented in a timely manner, with better quality through peak activities, thematic activities, emulation movements, competitions, seminars, model study tours, meetings with advanced typical models were launched to all levels of the Association, creating a strong spread of the Association's work and the farmers' movement at all levels, encouraging the emulation movement to get rich and reduce poverty sustainably among members and farmers.
Coordination between the association levels and the media has been promoted and achieved many practical results; propaganda activities on digital platforms and social networks continue to be focused on, bringing high efficiency, creating positive changes in awareness and actions of members and farmers.
The work of organizing the Association and training and fostering cadres has been carried out in a fairly synchronous and focused manner; the quality of grassroots association organization and membership quality has been enhanced. The construction and development of professional farmers' branches and groups, and the recruitment of members have continued to be promoted; the organization of branch activities has been improved; inspection, supervision, and social criticism have made much progress. Consulting activities and support services for farmers have continued to be expanded; capital support activities and connections for agricultural product consumption for farmers have been enhanced.
The emulation movements and campaigns of the Association have received active participation from a large number of cadres and farmer members. The role of the Association in the movement "Farmers compete in production, good business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably" continues to develop widely and is more clearly affirmed; many examples of good production, business, and effective economic and social models have appeared.
The role of the Association in implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development has been affirmed. The movement to build "New Rural Standard Gardens", "Farmers' Model Gardens", the Project "Farmers' Association participates in protecting the rural environment"; the movement to produce microbial organic fertilizers from agricultural waste and by-products has been effectively implemented, achieving high results (in the first 9 months of 2024, over 40 thousand tons were produced) receiving the response of a large number of members and being highly appreciated by the Party Committee and the government.
The quality and proactiveness in advising the Party Committee and the government, and the coordination with departments, unions, and business organizations of the association at all levels have been improved. These results have contributed significantly to the development of agriculture, rural areas, and the socio-economic development of the province.
PV:Dear comrade! Along with innovating and improving the activities of the Association, one of the tasks that the Farmers' Association at all levels focuses on is improving the spiritual life of its members?
Comrade Nguyen Quang Tung:That's right! During these days, Farmers' Associations at all levels in the province have been organizing many meaningful and practical activities to create a healthy and useful playground for the association's officials and members. Through these activities, the association's officials and members can unite and unite to make the association's movement stronger and stronger.
In particular, the new feature this year, through the organization of "Farmers' Festival", cadres, members and farmers have more cultural playground, exciting spirit, solidarity and attachment in the movement. Thereby, cadres, members and farmers feel proud and honor the farming profession and the farmers' movement.
Recently, the 2024 men's and women's volleyball tournament for full-time officials of the Nghe An Farmers' Association was one of the activities that attracted a large number of officials and members to participate and cheer. Although this was the first year the Provincial Farmers' Association organized the tournament, it left a strong impression.
In addition, during these days, in districts, cities and towns, cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities are also organized, displaying and introducing typical local agricultural products. Organizing cleaning of village roads and alleys, building bright, green, clean, beautiful and safe roads; planting and caring for "Farmers' trees in gratitude to Uncle Ho"...
The Provincial Farmers' Association held a ceremony to honor outstanding Farmers' Association branch heads for the 2022-2024 period. This time, 60 outstanding Farmers' Association branch heads were honored. These are all typical examples in building the association organization and the farmers' movement in the locality.
PV: To further improve the quality and efficiency of the Farmers' Association at all levels, could you please tell us some key tasks in the coming time?
Comrade Nguyen Quang Tung:Promoting tradition, being proactive and positive, in the coming time, Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Association will gather and unite farmers in the whole province to well implement the Party's policies and the State's laws and policies.
In particular, the Association continues to innovate the content of propaganda, mobilization, gathering, and solidarity work among farmers, improve the effectiveness of the farmers' movement, strongly innovate the content and methods of propaganda, mobilization, and effectively implement the Party's guidelines, policies, and laws of the State, especially those related to agriculture, farmers, and rural areas, focusing on (Resolution No. 46-NQ/TW); Plan No. 257-KH/TU to implement Resolution No. 46-NQ/TW.
Farmers' Associations at all levels must closely follow the Party's policies, orientations, and Resolutions, especially Resolution No. 39 of the Politburo on building and developing Nghe An province to 2030, with a vision to 2045, to actively propagate, mobilize, guide, and support farmer members in implementation; propagating the Association's Resolution programs must be linked to local political tasks with appropriate forms that are attractive to farmers.
At the same time, take care to consolidate the comprehensively strong Association organization, in which the key task is to consolidate and improve the quality of the grassroots Association organization; the key task is to build a team of Association officials at all levels with qualifications, capacity, understanding of agriculture, farmers, rural areas, agricultural mobilization skills, enthusiasm, responsibility, concern for the Association's work and the farmers' movement, especially the leaders; diversify the forms of gathering, attracting and recruiting members.
In addition, promote service activities, consulting, supporting farmers; improve the quality of training, vocational training for farmers and rural workers. Propaganda, mobilize farmers to actively participate in national target programs, patriotic emulation movements, and campaigns.
The Standing Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association develops a plan, clearly defines the responsibilities and contents of the farmers' association's participation in emulation movements in each period, ensuring clarity, practicality and effectiveness. Promote the role of the farmers' association in participating in supervision, social criticism, building a clean and strong Party and political system. Strengthen the leadership of the Party, coordination of the government, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and mass organizations with the farmers' association.
To carry out this task well, it requires cadres at all levels of the Association to be close to the grassroots, enthusiastic, regularly grasp the situation of agriculture and rural areas; the thoughts, aspirations and legitimate recommendations of farmers; to demonstrate their responsibility towards farmers, understand farmers and work for farmers, accompany and stand side by side with farmers to arouse farmers' will and aspirations.
From there, affirming the position and great role of the Nghe An peasant class in the cause of sustainable agricultural and rural development; bringing the Association's work and the peasant movement to continue to have new, stronger and more creative developments, making worthy contributions to building a rich, beautiful, modern and civilized Nghe An homeland.
