Dismantling a ring storing and transporting nearly 150 kg of firecrackers from abroad to Nghe An
Nghia Dan District Police have just issued a decision to initiate criminal proceedings and prosecute 3 suspects for storing and transporting prohibited goods (illegal fireworks). The identities of the 3 suspects prosecuted include: Nguyen Van Linh (born in 1993) and Nguyen Canh Cong (born in 1976), both residing in Hong Son Commune, Do Luong District; Nguyen Vinh Nghe (born in 1983), residing in Dong Van Commune, Tan Ky District.
Previously, Nghia Dan District Police discovered aFireworks trading lineWith a large quantity from the Vietnam - Laos border area in Tuong Duong and Ky Son districts to Nghia Dan district and other areas inside and outside the province for consumption, a plan was made to eradicate it.
Through investigation, the authorities identified Nguyen Canh Cong as the ringleader. Cong used to work as a driver in Laos. During his time as a driver, Cong created a ring to buy firecrackers in Laos at cheap prices and then transport them to Vietnam to sell for profit.
It is worth mentioning that, in order to deceive the authorities, after smuggling the fireworks across the border, Nguyen Canh Cong colluded with Nguyen Van Linh and Nguyen Vinh Nghe to use many sophisticated tricks to transport the fireworks to the subjects' homes for hiding.

Identifying this as a large-scale firecracker trading and storage ring that had infiltrated from abroad, was complex in nature, and had a negative impact on the security and order situation in the area, Nghia Dan District Police established a special project, mobilizing forces and means to fight.
After a period of persistently using synchronous professional measures, with the spirit of attacking and suppressing crime to the end, on October 15, 2024, at National Highway 7, Dinh Son Commune, Anh Son District, Nghia Dan District Police and Anh Son District Police co-chaired and coordinated with the Provincial Police's professional department to crack down on the case, arresting two subjects Nguyen Van Linh and Nguyen Canh Cong for storing and transporting illegal fireworks, with evidence confiscated of 118 kg of explosive fireworks. During the arrest, the authorities also discovered three frozen monkeys in the two cars of the two subjects.
Expanding the case, on October 16, 2024, in Dong Van commune, Tan Ky district, Nghia Dan district police coordinated with Tan Ky district police to arrest Nguyen Vinh Nghe and confiscated an additional 38 kg of various types of fireworks. The total amount of fireworks illegally stored and transported by the subjects was nearly 150 kg.
Currently, the case is under further investigation.
