In recent years, with many efforts, Nghe An has been focusing resources and effectively implementing national target projects and programs for education in ethnic minority and mountainous areas with the desire to improve and enhance the quality of education.
Nghe An province currently has more than 400 primary, secondary and high schools in mountainous districts. Of these, there are 8 ethnic boarding schools, 83 semi-boarding schools and more than 50 schools with semi-boarding ethnic minority students. Photo: My Ha In recent years, the quality of education has changed positively, the rate of students after grade 1 who can read, write fluently, and perform well in addition and subtraction within 95%, the rate of 11-year-old children completing primary school is 96.39%, the rate of children up to 14 years old completing primary school is 99.01%; the average score of the 10th grade entrance exam and the annual high school graduation exam has changed positively. However, the quality of general education in especially difficult areas and ethnic minorities is still limited, not comprehensive, below average compared to the general level of the whole province, and uneven between regions. Photo: My HaTo help students feel secure going to school, Nghe An is accelerating the establishment of boarding schools for ethnic minorities at the secondary and primary levels and a new boarding model. This solution will "retain" students, helping them have the opportunity to study and live in a complete and friendly educational environment. There, "the boarding house is considered a home and teachers will be parents". Photo: My HaAlong with investing in school facilities and equipment, the education sector has also innovated the goals, content, and methods of education, developing the qualities and capacities of learners. In particular, the school's education program is required to be close to the learners and the psychological characteristics of students, thereby helping students develop their qualities, capacities, self-study ability and learning awareness. Implement innovation in teaching methods towards differentiation, closely following the subjects, developing qualities and capacities suitable for ethnic minority students. Increase the application of information technology in teaching, testing and evaluating students. Enhance Vietnamese for primary school students in ethnic minority areas, focusing on building a Vietnamese communication and exchange environment for children and students. The boarding school model has helped students in remote communes have the opportunity to study and develop their own abilities. From there, it creates a quality human resource for mountainous districts in the future. Photo: My HaIn recent times, in addition to the policies of the Central Government, Nghe An has also had many policies to develop and improve the quality of education in particularly difficult areas. The policies are quite comprehensive, including policies on investment in school facilities and equipment; policies for managers and teachers; policies for students in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions, including policies on scholarships, tuition exemptions, social subsidies, learning support, preferential policies for university and college admissions, policies on education development for ethnic minorities, policies on enhancing Vietnamese for children and students in ethnic minority areas, and implementing the recruitment system that is being implemented... The implementation of central and local policies has had a great effect, contributing to the development and improvement of the quality of education in particularly difficult areas of Nghe An province.
