Nghe An: Highlights of November 22nd

* On behalf of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man has just signed and issued a Resolution onApprove the resignation of the Head of the National Assembly Delegation.XVth term of Nghe An province.

Accordingly, in Resolution No. 1298/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated November 19, 2024, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly resolved to approve the resignation of Comrade Thai Thanh Quy from the position of Head of the 15th National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province due to a transfer of work.

Previously, the Politburo assigned him to the position of Deputy Head of the Central Economic Committee.

* On the morning of November 22nd,The National Assembly conducts discussions in committees.Regarding the draft Law on Corporate Income Tax (amended) and the draft Law on Special Consumption Tax (amended), after hearing the presentation and verification report in the Dien Hong Hall.

Regarding the draft Law on Special Consumption Tax (amended), National Assembly representatives from Nghe An province suggested considering not applying special consumption tax to air conditioners with a capacity of 90,000 BTU or less and gasoline.

Accordingly, with socio-economic development, gasoline and air conditioners have become essential necessities in daily life, no longer luxury items. Furthermore, gasoline is currently subject to two taxes that restrict consumption: the special consumption tax and the environmental protection tax.

*On the afternoon of November 22nd, Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, held a working session with the leaders of Luxshare-ICT Group. During the meeting, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated and acknowledged the very positive contributions of Luxshare-ICT Group and its member companies to the overall development of Nghe An province in recent years.

During the working session, Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presented the Decision on Investment Policy and Investment Certificates for two projects: Luxshare - ICT (Nghe An) and Luxshare - ICT (Nghe An) 2 to the leaders of Luxshare - ICT Group.

* On the morning of November 22nd, Comrade Bui Thi Thom -Vice Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' AssociationThe delegation led a working session with the Provincial Farmers' Association to review the results of task implementation in 2024.

According to the report, as of now, the province has 447 association branches in 21 districts, cities, and towns; 268,666 member households have registered for the title of excellent farmer in production and business at all levels, of which 143,683 households have achieved the title (reaching 117% of the target). During the year, 173 model economic projects in agriculture were directed and supported.

* On the afternoon of November 22nd,The Vinh City Party Committee organized the announcement ceremony.Decisions of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on personnel matters.

Accordingly, the Standing Committee of the Vinh City Party Committee decided to transfer and appoint Comrade Tran Trung Kien - Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Hung Chinh commune - to the position of Deputy Head of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department for a term of 5 years (2024-2029); and to transfer Comrade Tran Van Tri - Secretary of the Party Committee of Doi Cung ward - to take up the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of Hung Chinh commune for the term 2020-2025.

* Following the report by Nghe An Newspaper, the authorities conducted an inspection and made the following request.Dismantle all structures and buildings located under the 500kV power line corridor.in Nghia Trung commune (Nghia Dan district).
