Strange ban from new coach Ruben Amorim
Ruben Amorim is making major changes to his coaching methods to help his players absorb his new philosophy and tactical system.
After a disappointing 1-1 draw with Ipswich on his debut, Amorim found his players were still confused and did not fully understand the 3-4-3 tactics he had applied. Therefore, he asked his assistants to reduce the complicated instructions and replace them with simpler, easier-to-understand instructions, helping the players not to worry too much about positioning and movement on the field.
"The players had to think too much during the game, that was obvious. They needed time to adapt to this scheme," Amorim shared. By banning his assistants from giving complex instructions, he hopes that the players will quickly adapt and feel close in his coaching style. Instead of focusing only on tactics, Amorim also focuses on connecting with the players, understanding the psychology and culture of the team to create a positive and energetic environment.
