Is U19 Song Lam Nghe An at risk of not being able to participate in the National U19 Championship?
Due to unfavorable scheduling, U19 Song Lam Nghe An is highly likely to be unable to participate in the 2025 National U19 Championship.
Unlike previous years, the timeframe for the tournament has changed.National U19The Vietnam Football Federation has decided to change the schedule for 2025. Accordingly, the qualifying rounds for the 2025 U19 National Championship will run from December 22, 2024 to the end of January 2025. This has directly affected clubs that rely on state funding for youth training, including...Lam River, Nghe An.
According to financial principles, the State budget cannot provide funding for a U19 team to participate in two National U19 Championships in one year. This has made it difficult for Song Lam Nghe An U19 to find the resources to participate in the 2025 National U19 Championship.
Facing this difficulty, Mr. Ho Le Duc - General Director of Song Lam Nghe An Football Club - said: "I have instructed the Song Lam Nghe An Youth Football Training Center to submit a report to the Department of Culture and Sports outlining the difficulties in participating in the 2025 National U19 Championship for the Song Lam Nghe An U19 team. At the same time, the Nghe An youth football academy will also cooperate with many other youth football training centers nationwide to send a letter to the Vietnam Football Federation requesting a postponement of the 2025 National U19 Championship to early January 2025. This postponement will create favorable conditions for all youth football training centers nationwide to participate in the tournament fully and with the best professional quality."
Previously, in the 2024 season, the U19 Song Lam Nghe An team, under the guidance of coach Huy Hoang, displayed a rather convincing style of play, but lacked a bit of luck and only won the Bronze Medal.
Entering this season, coach Nguyen Huy Hoang continues to be entrusted with the responsibility of being the head coach of the U19 Song Lam Nghe An team.
The U19 team from Nghe An province is comprised of players born in 2006 and outstanding players from the U17, U16, and U15 teams of Song Lam Nghe An. Notably, more than half of the U19 Song Lam Nghe An squad recently competed in the 2024 National Third Division League as the PVF-CAND Youth team. In that season, the players from Nghe An played a significant role in helping the PVF-CAND Youth team achieve promotion.
After completing their participation in the Third Division, the U19 Song Lam Nghe An team has begun training in preparation for the 2025 National U19 Championship. If U19 Song Lam Nghe An is not allowed to participate in the tournament, it will be a significant disadvantage for the young players from Nghe An. They will miss the opportunity to gain experience and hone their skills before stepping onto the professional stage.
