Nghe An proactively responds to cold and strong winds at sea
The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province has just issued Official Dispatch No. 254/VP-PCTT, directing proactive measures to respond to cold and strong winds at sea.
According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from December 7, the weather in the North and North Central regions will turn cold with the lowest temperature commonly ranging from 15-18 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas 12-14 degrees Celsius, and in high mountainous areas below 10 degrees Celsius. In the Gulf of Tonkin, the North East Sea, and the sea from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai, there will be strong northeast winds at level 6, gusting to level 7-8; rough seas; waves from 2.0-5.0m high.
Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 9258/BNN-DD dated December 5, 2024 on proactively responding to cold and strong winds at sea, to proactively respond to cold and strong winds at sea, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense requests the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of districts, cities and towns; relevant agencies and units to implement the following contents:

For cold:
Closely monitor warning and forecast bulletins to inform about the development of the Northeast monsoon and cold, promptly inform local authorities and people to proactively prevent; Instruct people to ensure their health, do not use coal stoves to heat in closed rooms to avoid unfortunate incidents.
Strengthen propaganda and guidance for livestock farming households on hygiene, strengthening barns, covering and keeping warm, proactively stocking food; provide guidance on disease prevention and control for livestock, poultry and aquatic products; ensure safety for agricultural production.
For strong winds at sea (coastal districts and towns):
Closely monitor information and developments of strong winds at sea; notify captains and owners of vehicles and vessels operating at sea to proactively prevent and have appropriate production plans, ensuring safety of people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle bad situations that may occur.
Prepare forces and means to deploy rescue work when there is a situation.
At the same time, organize a serious on-duty shift and regularly report to the Standing Office of the Command Committee to implement Official Dispatch No. 9258 dated December 5, 2024 on proactively responding to cold and strong winds at sea.
