Nghe An proactively responds to cold weather and strong winds at sea.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from December 7th, the weather in Northern Vietnam and North Central Vietnam will turn cold with lowest temperatures generally ranging from 15-18 degrees Celsius, 12-14 degrees Celsius in mountainous areas, and below 10 degrees Celsius in high mountainous areas. In the Gulf of Tonkin, the northern part of the East Sea, and the sea area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai, there will be strong northeasterly winds of force 6, gusting to force 7-8; rough seas; and wave heights of 2.0-5.0 meters.
In accordance with Official Letter No. 9258/BNN-DD dated December 5, 2024, regarding proactive response to cold weather and strong winds at sea, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense requests the Steering Committees for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of districts, cities, and towns; and relevant agencies and units to implement the following contents:

For cold weather:
Closely monitor warning and forecast bulletins to inform local authorities and the public about the development of the Northeast monsoon and cold weather, providing timely information so they can proactively take preventive measures; guide people on ensuring their health, and advise against using charcoal stoves for heating in enclosed rooms to avoid unfortunate incidents.
Strengthen propaganda and guidance for livestock farmers on hygiene, reinforcing barns, providing shelter to keep them warm, and proactively stockpiling feed; provide guidance on disease prevention and control for livestock, poultry, and aquatic animals; and ensure safety for agricultural production.

For strong winds at sea (coastal districts and towns):
Closely monitor information and developments regarding strong winds at sea; inform captains and owners of vessels operating at sea so they can proactively take preventive measures and plan their operations accordingly, ensuring the safety of people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle any adverse situations that may arise.

Prepare personnel and resources to deploy rescue and relief operations when necessary.
At the same time, maintain a strict duty roster and regularly report to the Standing Office of the Command Board on the implementation of Official Letter No. 9258 dated December 5, 2024, regarding proactive response to cold weather and strong winds at sea.
