Accordingly, the qualifying round of the 2025 National U19 Football Championship has 29 participating teams, belonging to the U19 group of professional and non-professional football clubs, training centers, and gifted schools recognized as eligible to participate in the tournament. Specifically, the 29 teams include: Ba Ria Vung Tau, Becamex Binh Duong, Binh Minh Quang Ngai, Binh Phuoc, Can Tho, Hanoi Police, Dak Lak, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Hanoi, Hue, Hoai Duc FC, LPBank Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Hong Linh Ha Tinh, Khanh Hoa, Luxury Ha Long, Nam Dinh, Phu Dong Ninh Binh, PVF, PVF-CAND, Quang Nam, SHB Da Nang, Soc Trang, Song Lam Nghe An, Tay Nguyen Gia Lai, Ho Chi Minh City, The Cong Viettel, Dao Ha Football Center, Zantino Vinh Phuc.
In the qualifying round, 29 teams are divided into 5 groups, playing a round-robin (home and away) in the host city, calculating the ranking points in each group. The 5 first-placed teams, 5 second-placed teams and 1 third-placed team with the best results in the 5 groups will be selected to the final round.
In case the number of teams in the groups is not equal: When comparing the indexes to determine the third-placed team with higher points and indexes to enter the final round, the tournament organizers will not count the results of the matches between the third-placed team and the last-placed teams in the groups with more teams, so that the number of matches of the third-placed teams between the groups when compared is equal. If the host team of the final round finishes the qualifying round with a position in the group of 11 teams with the best results in the 5 groups mentioned above, then the third-placed team with the next best result will qualify for the final round.
Through the results of the draw,U19 Song Lam Nghe Anis in group B with the teams: U19 Cong An Ha Noi, U19 Hoai Duc, U19 Phu Dong Ninh Binh, U19 Zantino Vinh Phuc and U19 PVF. In which, U19 Hoai Duc has the main personnel from U19 Thanh Hoa team.
This year, Thanh Hoa Club will not participate in the competition, most likely due to lack of funds. Therefore, this is considered a strong group, so coach Huy Hoang and his team need to be careful in all matches in the qualifying round, if they do not want to say goodbye to the tournament early.
The qualifying round of the 2025 National U19 Football Championship will officially begin with the first leg from December 22, 2024 to January 2, 2025; the second leg from January 4, 2025 to January 14, 2025 at the host locations. The final round is expected to take place from February 15 to February 28, 2025.
