December 17, 1096:Zen Master Man Giac, whose real name was Ly Truong, was born in 1052. He was knowledgeable in both Confucianism and Buddhism, so at the age of 20 he was chosen to teach the prince in the palace. Shortly after, he became a monk and received the Dharma transmission from Master Quang Tri, continuing the eighth generation of the Quan Bich Zen lineage, and had many disciples.

December 17, 1923:The death anniversary of the patriot Tran Xuan Soan, born in 1849 in Thanh Hoa province, is significant.
