Eliminate a gang of young people and minors specializing in inter-provincial motorbike theft
Vinh City Police have just successfully broken up a case, eliminating a gang of young people and minors (aged 16-20), seizing 25 motorbikes, worth more than 500 million VND and many other valuable assets.
Through the work of grasping the situation, Vinh City Police discovered on social networks that there are a number of associations and groups attracting young people and minors in the area and outside the province to participate in suspicious signs of crime. Members of these associations and groups are mainly young people and minors (aged 16-20) who drop out of school, are addicted to games, and hang around. To have money to spend, through these associations and groups, young people and minors in and outside the area contact and collude with each other to take advantage of loopholes and carelessness of people and security guards to commit acts.motorcycle theft.
Among them, the following subjects emerged: Tran Thien Nhan (born 2007), residing in Nghi Kim commune; Nguyen Le Van Minh (born 2007), residing in Le Mao ward; Le Nguyen Quang Minh (born 2007), Ha Huy Tap ward; Phan Cong Gia Bao (born 2006), residing in Hung Phuc ward; Vuong Chien Truong (born 2004), residing in Hung Loc ward, Vinh city; N.D.N (born 2008), Tran Viet Hao (born 2007), NVT (born 2008), Nguyen Hong Quan (born 2006), residing in Nghi Phong commune, Nghi Loc district, with many suspicious signs related to violations of the law on property theft.
The subjects often operate in areas such as apartments and boarding houses in the area and neighboring areas of Ha Tinh province. In order to deceive the authorities, the subjects operate with extremely sophisticated methods and tricks, regularly communicating with each other via social networks such as Zalo, Messenger, Viber, Telegram, etc.
The criminals are mobile and often change their residence. When committing crimes, they wear jackets, masks, ride vehicles without license plates, and take advantage of the time at night when there are few people around to use pliers to break locks and steal property. After committing the crime, the criminals quickly leave the scene, collude with other criminals to disperse the property, and divide the money for personal use.
Faced with the above situation, Vinh City Police established a special project, mobilizing all officers and soldiers of the Criminal Police Team to coordinate with the police of related wards and communes to join the case with the determination to eradicate the gang specializing in property theft in the shortest time.
Persistently collecting evidence, documents, monitoring the movements and activities of the subjects, at around 10:00 a.m. on December 15, 2024, realizing the ripe opportunity to "cast the net", the Task Force deployed synchronous professional measures, successfully breaking the case, arresting Tran Thien Nhan, Nguyen Le Van Minh, Le Nguyen Quang Minh, Phan Cong Gia Bao, Vuong Chien Truong, N.D.N, Tran Viet Hao, NVT, Nguyen Hong Quan and 8 subjects (aged 16-20, all residing in Vinh city) for theft of property; seizing many related evidences.
Initially, the Vinh City Police Investigation Agency determined: Using the above methods and tricks, from December 5, 2024 to the time of arrest, the subjects had committed 16 motorbike thefts in Vinh City and Ha Tinh Province (of which Vinh City had 9 cases), taking away 25 motorbikes, worth more than 500 million VND.
Currently, Vinh City Police have recovered 25 vehicles and returned them to the victims. At the same time, Vinh City Police Investigation Agency is temporarily detaining the subjects to continue investigating and handling the acts of property theft and consumption of property obtained by others through crime.
