Interprovincial motorcycle theft gang arrested.
The Vinh City Police (Nghe An province) have successfully cracked a case, arresting three suspects specializing in property theft, seizing 10 motorbikes worth over 200 million VND, and other related evidence.
Through intelligence gathering, Vinh City Police discovered that several groups of young people in the city and some districts were communicating and colluding on social media to steal motorbikes from apartment buildings, boarding houses, and public places.

The suspects frequently communicate with each other through high-tech applications such as Zalo, Messenger, Viber, Telegram, etc. They then arrange meetings at apartment buildings, boarding houses, and public places, taking advantage of lax security or resident oversight to steal property. During the process, the suspects usually wear masks, assign specific tasks, and use valve-breaking tools to steal vehicles. After committing the crime, they contact and connect with other individuals to sell the stolen goods, dividing the money among themselves for personal use.
Considering the serious nature of the suspects' actions and the signs of organized crime, the Vinh City Police established a special task force, concentrating resources and personnel to combat the crime.

On September 14, 2024, applying flexible operational measures, the Special Task Force, in coordination with Team 373 of the City Police, dismantled an inter-provincial property theft ring, successfully arresting three suspects: N. D.T (born in 2006); NVHD (born in 2008), both residing in Yen Giang Hamlet, Vinh Tan Ward, Vinh City; and NLVM (born in 2008), residing in Tan Quang Hamlet, Le Mao Ward, Vinh City, for the crime of property theft.
Initially, the Vinh City Police Investigation Agency determined that the suspects had dropped out of school, refused to work, lived a dissolute lifestyle, and were addicted to video games. They conspired to steal property in Vinh City and surrounding areas of Ha Tinh province to sell for money to spend. It was learned that suspect D. played the role of mastermind, directly carrying out the lock-breaking, while the others acted as lookouts, signaling the group to escape if they detected any suspicious activity. Suspect T. had a prior criminal record for robbery and intentional infliction of injury.
Using these methods and tactics, from the beginning of September to September 14, 2024, the suspects committed 5 motorcycle thefts in Vinh City and 10 thefts in Ha Tinh province, stealing 10 motorcycles worth over 200 million VND.
Currently, the Investigation Police Department of Vinh City Police has issued a decision to initiate a criminal case, indict the suspects, and temporarily detain N. D. T. and NVHD for the crimes of theft and receiving stolen property.
