Due to the influence of the cold air, from December 15 to 18, the temperature in the mountainous districts of Nghe An dropped, especially in Ky Son district, where it was extremely cold, with common temperatures ranging from 11 to 13 degrees Celsius, accompanied by frost and ice.

Although the People's Committee of Ky Son district had previously issued an official dispatch on proactively preventing hunger and cold for livestock, the situation of buffaloes and cows freezing to death still occurred in many localities.
