Due to the influence of the verstärkt cold front, from December 15th to 18th, temperatures in the mountainous districts of Nghe An province dropped significantly, especially in Ky Son district, experiencing severe cold with temperatures generally ranging from 11 to 13 degrees Celsius, accompanied by frost and ice.
Despite the Ky Son District People's Committee having previously issued a document on proactively preventing hunger and cold for livestock, the situation of buffalo and cattle dying from the cold still occurred in many localities.

According to a quick report from the Ky Son District People's Committee, over the past three days, 15 calves and buffaloes over six months old have died from the cold in the district. Specifically, in Dooc May commune, 2 buffaloes and cows died; in Keng Du, 1 calf died; in Muong Long, 1 cow died; in Bao Nam, 1 buffalo died; in Nam Can, 6 buffaloes and cows died; in Muong Ai, 1 buffalo died; in Na Ngoi, 2 buffalo died; and in Huu Kiem, 1 buffalo died.

Currently, the weather in Ky Son district continues to be very cold, especially at night.
