Pork prices fell in Northern Vietnam on December 27, 2024.
Today, December 27, 2024, live pig prices continued to decline in some northern provinces, while prices in many southern provinces and cities continued to rise.
Pork prices in the Northern region
Today, December 27, 2024, live pig prices in the northern region continued to decline in some provinces such as Bac Giang, Hung Yen, and Hai Duong. Yesterday (December 26), prices in Nam Dinh, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, and Tuyen Quang all decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, reaching 68,000 VND/kg.
Currently, traders in the North are buying live pigs at prices ranging from 67,000 to 69,000 VND/kg. Provinces such as Thai Nguyen, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, Hanoi, Bac Giang, and Thai Binh have the highest live pig prices nationwide at 69,000 VND/kg. Other localities in the region have common live pig prices ranging from 67,000 to 68,000 VND/kg.
Live pig prices in the Central and Central Highlands regions
Today, December 27, 2024, live pig prices in the Central and Central Highlands regions remained stable. Currently, traders in the Central and Central Highlands regions are buying live pigs at around 64,000 - 68,000 VND/kg. Dak Lak, along with Thanh Hoa, has consistently maintained the highest live pig prices in the region at 68,000 VND/kg over the past few days.
Live pig prices are currently trading commonly between 64,000 and 66,000 VND/kg in provinces and cities in this region.
Pork prices in the Southern region
Conversely, live pig prices in the Southern region today, December 27, 2024, continued to record an upward trend in the provinces of Dong Thap, Kien Giang, Hau Giang, Tien Giang, Bac Lieu, Tra Vinh, and Soc Trang, all increasing by 1,000 VND/kg.
Currently, live pig prices in the Southern region are fluctuating between 64,000 and 68,000 VND/kg. Among these, Kien Giang, Tien Giang, and Ben Tre provinces maintain the lowest prices in the region at 63,000 VND/kg.

Overall, today's live pig prices are fluctuating in opposite directions in the North and South regions. According to surveys, live pig prices nationwide are commonly ranging from 63,000 to 69,000 VND/kg.
On December 24th, at the Cambodia-Vietnam border in Ben Cau district, the Environmental Crime Prevention and Control Police Department discovered a group of individuals transporting pigs from Cambodia to Vietnam without veterinary quarantine and without declaring them to the authorities.
Police discovered three trucks carrying a total of 531 pigs, with a total weight of 60 tons, and 396 tons that had been weighed and stored in a computer on December 24th.
The truck with license plate 47C-094.87, driven by Mr. Tran Minh Vu, born in 1977, residing in Dak Lak, was transporting 190 pigs. The truck with license plate 37C-341.56, driven by Mr. Nguyen Van Trong, born in 1985, residing in Dong Nai, was transporting 161 pigs. The truck with license plate 61C-521.31, driven by Mr. Dao Thanh Phong, born in 1989, residing in Binh Duong, was transporting 180 pigs.
The police also identified the guide as Nguyen Van Mau, born in 1980, residing in Dong Thap, and three Cambodian individuals involved.
The station manager determined that from December 22nd to 24th, there were 20 weighing slips, with a total weight of 396.40 tons.
