The price of live pigs today, December 27, 2024, in the Northern region continued to record a decrease in some provinces and cities such as Bac Giang, Hung Yen, and Hai Duong. Yesterday (December 26), in the provinces of Nam Dinh, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, and Tuyen Quang, the price all decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, reaching 68,000 VND/kg.
Currently, traders in the North are purchasing live pigs at around 67,000 - 69,000 VND/kg. In particular, provinces and cities such as Thai Nguyen, Hai Duong, Hung Yen and Nam Dinh, Hanoi, Bac Giang and Thai Binh have the highest live pig price in the country at 69,000 VND/kg. The remaining localities in the region have common live pig prices in the range of 67,000 - 68,000 VND/kg.
Pig price in Central Highlands region
The price of live pigs today, December 27, 2024, in the Central Highlands region recorded a stable price. Currently, traders in the Central Highlands region are purchasing live pigs at around 64,000 - 68,000 VND/kg. In particular, Dak Lak has had a continuous price of live pigs in the past few days, along with Thanh Hoa, which has the highest price in the region at 68,000 VND/kg.
The price of live pigs is currently trading at 64,000 - 66,000 VND/kg in provinces and cities in this region.
Pig price in the Southern region
On the contrary, the price of live pigs in the Southern region today, December 27, 2024, continued to record an increase in prices in the provinces of Dong Thap, Kien Giang, Hau Giang, Tien Giang, Bac Lieu, Tra Vinh, and Soc Trang, all increasing by 1,000 VND/kg.
Currently, the price of live pigs in the Southern region is fluctuating between 64,000 - 68,000 VND/kg. Of which, Kien Giang, Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces still maintain the lowest price in the region at 63,000 VND/kg.

In general, the price of live pigs today fluctuates in opposite directions in the North and the South. According to a survey, the price of live pigs nationwide is commonly fluctuating from 63,000 - 69,000 VND/kg.
On December 24, at the Cambodia - Vietnam border in Ben Cau district, the Department of Environmental Crime Prevention and Control discovered a group of people transporting pigs from Cambodia to Vietnam without veterinary quarantine and without declaring to authorities.
