According to TASS on January 17, Russia has every reason to believe that the attack on the gas compression station in the Krasnodar Territory, which supplies gas via the Turkish Stream, was carried out at the request of the United States and the United Kingdom. This was stated by the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya.
“The attack on the Turkish Stream gas pipeline compression station in the Krasnodar Territory on January 11th stands out in a series of attacks by the Kyiv authorities. Let me reiterate that this occurred just one day before the Ukrainian president refused to renew the contract for the transit of natural gas through Ukrainian territory to Europe,” said Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya, at a UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine.
According to Ambassador Nebenzya, Russia has every reason to believe that the attack on the Turkish Stream infrastructure was carried out on advice from Washington and London, who are interested in attracting the European Union with expensive liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States.
A Russian diplomat stated that it is the US and the UK that are preventing an objective international investigation into the September 2022 terrorist attack on the Nord Stream gas pipeline.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Kyiv, in an attempt to prevent gas supplies to Europe, attacked the Russkaya gas compression station in the Krasnodar Territory, which supplies gas via the Turkish Stream, with nine UAVs. The compression station continued to supply gas to the pipeline as normal.
