Russia has every reason to believe that the attack on the compressor station in the Krasnodar Territory, which supplies gas via the Turkish Stream, was carried out at the request of the United States and Great Britain, Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said on January 17, according to TASS.
“The attack on the compressor station of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline in the Krasnodar Territory on January 11 stands out in the series of attacks by the Kiev authorities. Let me recall that the day before the Ukrainian president refused to extend the contract for the transit of natural gas through the territory of Ukraine to Europe,” said Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya at the UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine.
According to Ambassador Nebenzya, Russia has every reason to believe that the attack on the Turkish Stream infrastructure was carried out on the advice of Washington and London, who are interested in luring the European Union with expensive liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States.
The Russian diplomat said that it was the US and the UK that were preventing an objective international investigation into the terrorist attack on the Nord Stream gas pipeline in September 2022.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Kiev, in order to prevent gas supplies to Europe, attacked the Russkaya gas compressor station in the Krasnodar Territory, which supplies gas via the Turkish Stream, with nine UAV drones. The compressor station continued to supply gas into the pipeline as usual.
