Container truck crashes into expressway toll station, temporarily closing Nghi Phuong intersection
Early in the morning of January 18, a container truck crashed into Nghi Phuong toll station on the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway branch, causing serious damage to equipment and injuring one employee. This intersection had to be temporarily closed to fix the problem.
The accident occurred at around 5am at Nghi Phuong toll station, at the intersection of National Highway 7C (also known as N5), through Nghe An province. The container truck with license plate 29K-057.xx (driver unknown) was traveling in the direction of Hanoi - Vinh. When reaching the intersection, the vehicle suddenly lost control and crashed straight into the toll booth, injuring one employee. The victim was taken to the emergency room immediately afterwards.

At the scene, the container truck overturned in the middle of the road, all equipment at the toll station was completely damaged, unable to continue operating. This incident forced the N1 branch line at Nghi Phuong intersection (direction Dien Chau - Vinh city) to be temporarily closed.
Immediately after receiving the news, Phuc Thanh Hung Investment Joint Stock Company - the project management unit coordinated with the functional forces and toll collection units to be present at the scene to divert traffic. Temporarily, vehicles were directed to circulate through the National Highway 46B intersection, located in Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district. At the same time, the remote LED notification system was updated to guide alternative routes, ensuring safety for moving vehicles.
Currently, the authorities are investigating the cause of the accident and urgently remedying the consequences to soon put Nghi Phuong intersection back into operation.
