Container truck crashes into highway toll booth, Nghi Phuong interchange temporarily closed.
Early on the morning of January 18th, a container truck crashed into the Nghi Phuong toll station on the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway branch, causing serious damage to equipment and injuring one employee. The interchange was temporarily closed for repairs.
The accident occurred at approximately 5:00 AM at the Nghi Phuong toll station, located at the intersection of National Highway 7C (also known as N5), in Nghe An province. A container truck with license plate 29K-057.xx (driver unknown) was traveling from Hanoi to Vinh. Upon reaching the intersection, the truck suddenly lost control and crashed into the toll booth, injuring one employee. The victim was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.

At the scene, the container truck was overturned in the middle of the road, and all the equipment at the toll station was completely destroyed and rendered inoperable. This incident forced the temporary closure of the N1 branch line at the Nghi Phuong intersection (towards Dien Chau – Vinh City).
Immediately after receiving the report, Phuc Thanh Hung Investment Joint Stock Company – the project management unit – coordinated with functional forces and toll collection units to be present at the scene to reroute traffic. Temporarily, vehicles were redirected to the intersection of National Highway 46B, in Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district. At the same time, the remote LED information board system was updated to guide alternative routes, ensuring the safety of vehicles.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident and working urgently to mitigate the consequences so that the Nghi Phuong intersection can be reopened to operation as soon as possible.
