Tet gifts have become a source of encouragement for teachers working in mountainous districts and students to overcome difficulties and achieve many academic achievements.

Meaningful gifts

On January 18, the Department of Education and Training visited and presented gifts to teachers, staff and students in Que Phong, Quy Chau and Quy Hop districts.

This is an annual activity that has beenEducationhas been maintained for many years and has become a meaningful beauty every time Tet comes and Spring returns. The program is in response to the call "Tet for the poor" of the Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung and is accompanied by the "For Vietnamese Stature" Fund of TH Group and the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education.

In each district, the Department of Education and Training presented 120 gifts, including 40 gifts for teachers and 80 gifts for students at all four levels: Preschool, Primary, Secondary and High School. With each gift worth 1 million VND for teachers and 500,000 VND for students, this is truly a very meaningful early Tet gift for teachers and students.

Previously, the delegation also presented 720 gifts worth 540 million VND to teachers and students in Ky Son, Con Cuong and Tuong Duong districts. These are cases of difficult circumstances, many of whom suffer from serious illnesses.

Traveling nearly 40 km from Dong Van to receive gifts at Que Phong High School, teacher Lo Thanh Luyen said: I am 52 years old and this is the first time I have received a Tet gift from the Education sector. The gift is a great source of encouragement for us to overcome difficulties and complete our tasks well.

In his story, Mr. Luyen also shared that he was the only person in the school to receive a Tet gift this time. He himself was a school librarian so his income was modest. The nature of the education sector is that teachers do not receive a Tet bonus and are only supported with about 500,000 VND each from the school's savings. Therefore, receiving a Tet gift from the Department of Education, he was very touched.

In Quy Chau district, Ms. Vi Thi Thanh was also moved when she and her grandchildren came to receive Tet gifts from the Department of Education and Training. Despite her advanced age and poor health, she has had to raise two young children alone for many years. The children's mother, who is currently being treated in the hospital for postpartum depression, is in extremely difficult economic conditions.

In addition to teachers, many students in difficult circumstances also received Tet gifts from the leaders of the Department of Education and Training. Ms. Luong Thi Ha, who lives in Tien Phong commune (Que Phong district), is a near-poor household. The couple has 3 children but does not have a stable job, living on farming. Poor health, congenital eye defects since childhood, unable to see clearly, so Ms. Ha's work and production face many difficulties. Receiving the Tet gift from the Department for her youngest child in preschool, Ms. Ha was moved and said: I still do not have money to buy Tet gifts for my children. My family is very happy to receive gifts from the Department of Education, I will buy clothes for my children to wear during Tet.

I believe that the Tet gifts that the Education sector sends to teachers and students in mountainous districts will become a source of encouragement for the entire sector to continue to strive to teach well, study well, and achieve many academic achievements.

Mr. Ho Binh Minh - Head of Education and Training Department of Quy Hop district

Gratitude to teachers

For many consecutive years, the Education and Training sector has organized a program to give Tet gifts to teachers, staff and students in 6 mountainous districts, including Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Que Phong, Quy Chau and Quy Hop. This is an activity of profound humanitarian significance, demonstrating the sector's concern for teachers, staff and students in the mountainous and disadvantaged communes of the province.

Visiting and wishing a Happy New Year to schools, Director of the Department of Education and Training Thai Van Thanh acknowledged the efforts of teachers and students. In recent years, despite many difficulties in teaching and learning conditions, teachers have continued to strive and achieved many good results in teaching and learning. That has contributed to improving the quality of education in the whole province and maintaining the position of education in the province.

Talking to teachers at schools, the head of the education sector also said that the Party and State always pay attention to education and teachers.

In particular, the Draft Law on Teachers has paid much attention to policies for teachers, especially policies to attract talented people to teach and contribute to the education sector, and policies to attract teachers to work in disadvantaged districts. This is both an opportunity and also requires the teaching staff to make regular efforts to meet the requirements of educational innovation.
