These Tet gifts have become a source of encouragement and motivation for teachers working in mountainous districts and for students to overcome difficulties and achieve many accomplishments in their studies.

Meaningful gifts

On January 18th, the Department of Education and Training visited and presented gifts to teachers, staff, and students in the districts of Que Phong, Quy Chau, and Quy Hop.

This is an annual event that has beenEducation sectorThis program has been maintained for many years and has become a meaningful tradition every time Tet (Lunar New Year) comes around. It aims to respond to the call for "Tet for the Poor" by the Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung and is supported by the "For the Stature of Vietnam" Fund of TH Group and the Provincial Association for the Promotion of Learning.

In each district, the Department of Education and Training distributed 120 gifts, including 40 for teachers and 80 for students across all four levels: preschool, primary, secondary, and high school. With each gift valued at 1 million VND for teachers and 500,000 VND for students, this was truly a meaningful early Tet (Lunar New Year) gift for teachers and students.

Earlier, the delegation also donated 720 gifts worth 540 million VND to teachers and students in Ky Son, Con Cuong, and Tuong Duong districts. These are individuals in difficult circumstances, many of whom suffer from serious illnesses.

Having traveled nearly 40 km from Dong Van to receive gifts at Que Phong High School, teacher Lo Thanh Luyen said: "I am 52 years old this year and this is the first time I have received Tet gifts from the Education sector. The gifts are a great source of encouragement for us to overcome difficulties and fulfill our duties well."

In his story, Mr. Luyen also shared that he was the only person in the school to receive Tet gifts this time. He himself is a school librarian with a modest income. Due to the nature of the education sector, teachers do not receive Tet bonuses and only receive about 500,000 VND each, drawn from the school's savings. Therefore, receiving Tet gifts from the Department of Education deeply moved him.

In Quy Chau district, Ms. Vi Thi Thanh was also moved when she and her grandchildren received Tet gifts from the Department of Education and Training. Despite her advanced age and poor health, she has been raising two young grandchildren alone for many years. The children's mother is currently being treated in the hospital for postpartum depression, and their economic situation is extremely difficult.

Besides teachers, many students from disadvantaged backgrounds also received Tet gifts from the leaders of the Department of Education and Training. Ms. Luong Thi Ha, residing in Tien Phong commune (Que Phong district), is classified as a near-poor household. She and her husband have three children but lack stable employment, relying on farming for their livelihood. Due to poor health and a congenital eye defect, Ms. Ha has difficulty seeing, making work and production challenging. Receiving a Tet gift from the Department for her youngest child, who attends preschool, Ms. Ha expressed her gratitude: "I still don't have money to buy Tet gifts for my children. Receiving gifts from the Education sector makes my family very happy; I will buy clothes for my children to wear during Tet."

I believe that the Tet gifts that the Education sector sends to teachers and students in the high mountainous districts will become a source of encouragement for the entire sector to continue striving to teach well, learn well, and achieve many academic achievements.

Mr. Ho Binh Minh - Head of the Education and Training Department of Quy Hop District

Expressing gratitude to the teachers.

For many years now, the Department of Education and Training has organized a program to give Tet gifts to teachers, staff, and students in six mountainous districts: Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Que Phong, Quy Chau, and Quy Hop. This is an activity with profound humanitarian significance, demonstrating the department's concern for teachers, staff, and students in the remote and disadvantaged areas of the province.

During his visit to schools to extend New Year greetings, the Director of the Department of Education and Training, Thai Van Thanh, acknowledged the efforts of the teachers and students. Over the years, despite challenging teaching conditions, the teachers have continuously strived and achieved many good results in teaching and learning. This has contributed to improving the quality of education throughout the province and maintaining the province's educational standing.

In conversations with teachers at various schools, the head of the education sector also stated that the Party and the State always pay attention to education and care about the teaching staff.

In particular, the draft Law on Teachers has paid much attention to policies for teachers, especially policies to attract talented people to work in teaching and contribute to the education sector, and policies to attract teachers to work in disadvantaged districts. This is both an opportunity and a requirement for the teaching staff to constantly strive and make efforts to meet the demands of educational reform.

Given the unique characteristics of mountainous districts, the Director of the Department of Education and Training, Thai Van Thanh, believes that the responsibilities of the teaching staff are very heavy. Therefore, in the coming time, the department hopes that teachers will continue to strive, overcome difficulties, and fulfill their duties well. In addition, there must be innovation in education and training to create a generation of confident and creative students to enter a new era, an era of national progress for Vietnam.

The Department of Education and Training always pays attention to, encourages, and expresses gratitude to the teachers who are always dedicated, devoted, and self-sacrificing for the cause of education in the mountainous regions.

During conversations with students at Que Phong High School, Hanh Thiet Junior High School (Quy Chau), Quy Hop 2 High School, and other students who received gifts on this occasion, the Department's leaders encouraged the students to be diligent, excel in their studies, have ambitions and dreams to reach further, and become good citizens and useful members of society.
