The Nghe An Department of Education and Training has just announced the subjects, exam format, and exam duration for the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

Specifically, the Literature and Mathematics exams will be in essay format, with a time limit of 120 minutes.
The Foreign Language exam will be in the form of multiple-choice questions, with a time limit of 60 minutes.
Thus, at this point, Nghe An is one of the first provinces to announce the third subject for the 10th grade entrance exam.
Since 2025 is the first year that students trained under the new general education program will graduate, the Ministry of Education and Training has issued new, unified regulations for admission to junior and senior high schools nationwide.
According to regulations, for 10th grade admissions, localities can choose between entrance exams, selection based on academic records, or a combination of both. If an entrance exam is used, it includes Mathematics, Literature, and a third subject (or a combined test). This subject is chosen by the Department of Education and Training from subjects assessed by scores, but the same subject cannot be chosen for more than three consecutive years.
According to initial statistics, all provinces that have announced a third exam subject have chosen a foreign language. This is also a subject that the Nghe An education sector has been using for many years.
