In 2024, the Nghe An Provincial Police Department steadfastly implemented the action slogan "Building a truly clean, strong, professional, elite, and modern Nghe An Provincial Police force, serving the people." The force proactively advised and issued many strategic and innovative documents, closely adhering to practical realities, effectively mobilizing the combined strength of the political system, ensuring security in border areas, mountainous regions, and ethnic minority communities, and stably resolving issues related to religious security, disputes, and complaints.
Over the past year, Nghe An province has hosted numerous major political, cultural, and social events attended by high-ranking leaders, international guests, and a large number of people. The Nghe An Provincial Police, with their proactive spirit and high sense of responsibility, have excellently ensured absolute safety for the delegations of leaders, key targets, and important events, contributing to maintaining security and creating a foundation for the province's socio-economic development in the new phase.
In particular, the synchronized implementation of solutions to combat and prevent crime resulted in a 23.6% reduction in crimes against social order, and the successful resolution of 100% of very serious and especially serious cases. A series of major cases were successfully solved, preventing the formation of organized crime groups of the "mafia" type.
In order to remove Nghe An from the list of drug-related hotspots as soon as possible, in 2024, the Nghe An Provincial Police implemented a comprehensive set of measures. To date, the model has been expanded to 284 communes and 7 districts that meet the criteria for being drug-free. In particular, they advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue the strategic plan "Vinh City is Drug-Free" – a crucial turning point that created a ripple effect, contributing to a comprehensive change in the social order and safety situation throughout the province and specifically in Vinh City. As a result, in 2024, they dismantled more than 50 major drug trafficking rings, detected and arrested nearly 950 cases involving 1,250 individuals, and seized a large quantity of drugs, including over 30 kg of heroin, 25 kg of synthetic drugs, nearly 500,000 synthetic drug pills, over 20 kg of methamphetamine, and 37 kg of cannabis.
Furthermore, the fight against economic crimes, corruption, and environmental crimes was decisively directed with the motto "No forbidden zones, no exceptions, handling one case serves as a warning to the entire region and sector," resulting in the handling of over 4,000 cases, more than 4,500 individuals, and the seizure of evidence worth over 60 billion VND.

In 2024, the Nghe An Provincial Police continued to maintain its pioneering position in administrative reform within the People's Police force and the province. With groundbreaking solutions and exemplary models at various units and localities, such as citizen reception offices, duty officers' offices, and document handling offices, these initiatives were surveyed by the Ministry of Public Security and will be replicated nationwide.
In addition, the Provincial Police Department has performed well in its role as the standing agency for Project No. 06/CP. The Provincial Police Department has vigorously implemented digital transformation and administrative reform tasks, and has been commended by the Prime Minister as one of the exemplary localities nationwide for its innovative implementation of the Project.
The Nghe An Provincial Police also focused on ensuring traffic safety and fire prevention and rescue. Traffic accident prevention and control efforts were effective, reducing the number of incidents compared to 2023. The Provincial Police successfully organized a provincial-level fire fighting and rescue drill at the VSIP Industrial Park and won first place overall in the regional competition (Region III) held in Binh Dinh province.
One of the highlights of 2024 was the activity of Task Force 373, with nearly 10,500 patrols and over 35,500 officers and soldiers participating. Through this, they detected and handled nearly 320 cases involving 540 individuals, and processed nearly 7,500 traffic safety violations. Simultaneously, emphasis was placed on promoting the strength of the "All People Protect National Security" movement. Models such as "Peaceful Parishes and Sub-Parishes" and "24-Hour Experience" were commended and replicated nationwide by the Ministry of Public Security and the government.
In particular, in 2024, the Nghe An Provincial Police advised and prepared the conditions for the simultaneous launching ceremony and parade of forces participating in protecting security and order at the provincial level and in 20 districts and towns. This event created a vibrant atmosphere, spread strongly throughout the community, and left a strong mark on the results of the provincial police's implementation.
In addition to combating crime, the Nghe An Provincial Police also excels in social welfare, charity, and gratitude-related activities. They have supported the construction of houses for the poor and contributed a total of 6.5 billion VND to the "Tet for the Poor" program. Notably, they donated over 4 billion VND to provide timely assistance to the police and people in the northern provinces affected by Typhoon No. 3.
In 2024, the Nghe An Provincial Police achieved many top prizes in competitions, contests, sports events, and festivals organized by the Central Government, the Ministry of Public Security, and the province. With these outstanding achievements, the Nghe An Provincial Police continued to affirm its position, having been awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag by the Government for 10 consecutive years and ranking first in the administrative reform index within the entire People's Public Security Force for 9 consecutive years. Last year, 596 collectives and 1,562 individuals received commendations from various levels. Notably, on February 7, 2024, the President signed a decision awarding the Nghe An Provincial Police the title of "Hero of the People's Armed Forces".
Proudly inheriting and upholding the glorious traditions of the Heroic Unit of the People's Armed Forces, in 2025, on the eve of the Party Congresses at all levels and major political and social events, the entire Party Committee and the Public Security force of Nghe An will continue to unite, be highly determined, and strive to overcome all difficulties and challenges. With unwavering will, the unit will continue to make new marks with outstanding achievements and victories, worthy of being the sharp "sword" of the Party, and the solid "steel shield" protecting the peace and happiness of the people in the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh.
