Ensuring security and safety at the Spring Festival.
After the Lunar New Year, the spring festival season begins. To ensure security, order, and traffic safety during this period, the Nghe An Provincial Police have closely coordinated with all levels and sectors to implement comprehensive plans at historical sites, scenic spots, and cultural and spiritual landmarks, creating favorable conditions for people and tourists to participate in the festivals safely and orderly.
Ensuring security and order
Cờn Temple, located on Diệc hill, near Lạch Cờn estuary in Phương Cần village, Quỳnh Phương ward, Hoàng Mai town, is known as one of the most sacred temples in Nghệ An, with the saying "First Cờn, second Quả, third Bạch Mã, fourth Chiêu Trưng".
Since the first day of the Lunar New Year, the temple has welcomed tens of thousands of visitors for sightseeing and worship. Given the surge in visitors and the potential risks to security and order, the Hoang Mai Town Police have closely coordinated with the Management Board of the Cờn Temple National Historical and Cultural Relic to implement plans to ensure safety and maintain order in the area.

Thanks to close coordination and proactive preparation, the safety and convenience of pilgrims and visitors to Cờn Temple are ensured.
Authorities are not only actively promoting and encouraging people and tourists to comply with fire prevention and fighting regulations, but also closely monitoring the implementation of safety measures in the use of electricity, incense burning, and the burning of votive paper.
Many measures to maintain order and prevent chaos, crowding, and pushing were promptly implemented; negative behaviors such as theft, gambling, and superstition were also strictly controlled. In particular, begging in the area was dealt with thoroughly and decisively.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Sau, a tourist from Hanoi, said: "I feel very satisfied with my visit to Corn Temple. Although there were many visitors, the organization and security here were excellent. The authorities were always on duty, reminding visitors to comply with regulations, which not only ensured everyone's safety but also created a solemn and civilized atmosphere."

The King Mai Temple Festival in Nam Dan district in 2025, held over three days from February 10th to 12th (corresponding to the 13th to 15th days of the first lunar month), made a strong impression from the very first day. The festival's rich and unique activities not only met the spiritual and cultural needs of the people but also provided an opportunity for locals and visitors to experience the traditional values of the nation. This year, the festival's activities were particularly outstanding, showcasing the national identity, martial spirit, and solidarity, such as boat racing, wrestling, card games, folk games, and volleyball, attracting a large number of participants.

It is noteworthy that despite the large number of visitors flocking to the festival, with thousands participating at any one time, security and order were well maintained. According to the Nam Dan District Police, anticipating a high number of visitors during the Lunar New Year period, the district police mobilized forces from communes, towns, and surrounding areas to implement security plans, set up checkpoints, and manage traffic flow to ensure order and traffic safety.
In addition, the district police also closely coordinate with the Management Board of the King Mai Temple Relic Area, conducting regular patrols and reminding tourists to be vigilant and protect their personal property.
Thanks to these measures, security and order at the festival were maintained stably, contributing to a joyful and safe atmosphere for visitors. At the same time, services and stalls at the festival were also strictly controlled, ensuring quality and safety for everyone.
According to statistics, in 2025, the entire province will organize 26 festivals, of which 21 will take place in the spring (from January to March of the lunar calendar), and the rest will be held from April to October of the lunar calendar.
Strengthening traffic safety control
Amidst the surge in travel demand after the Lunar New Year, especially as people return to work and participate in festivals and tourism activities, ensuring security, order, and traffic safety becomes even more crucial. To address this situation, the traffic police force has intensified patrols, inspections, and enforcement of traffic violations, particularly on key routes.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Nam Hong, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police, said: "After Tet, the demand for travel increases, leading to potential traffic congestion and accidents. Therefore, we have focused on coordinating traffic at hotspots to ensure that congestion does not occur. One of the important goals is to minimize traffic accidents, especially those involving passenger buses. To achieve this, we require bus companies to sign commitments to strictly comply with regulations, and at the same time, coordinate with local police to inspect and handle violations such as carrying more passengers than allowed, speeding violations, etc."

To improve the effectiveness of traffic safety enforcement in 2025, the traffic police force will continue to strengthen its efforts in disseminating information and reminding road users about new regulations in the law and decrees. One of the important changes is Decree 168/CP, which stipulates significantly increased fines for serious violations, especially those that endanger road users and lead to accidents. Lieutenant Colonel Hong stated: "Disseminating information about the new regulations helps raise public awareness of traffic law compliance, contributing to reducing accidents and forming a habit of obeying the law."
Alongside public awareness campaigns, traffic police will continue to mobilize and deploy forces and vehicles to organize patrols, inspections, and strictly handle violations that directly cause traffic accidents, especially violations related to alcohol levels and speeding. Traffic police will deploy task forces to conduct regular inspections on national and provincial highways, especially during lunchtime, evenings, holidays, and on roads with high traffic volume.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Nam Hong also affirmed that coordination between traffic police teams and stations and local police forces will continue to be strongly implemented to inspect and handle violations related to alcohol levels, speed, and other traffic offenses.
