"During the summer months, my whole family had to go raking mussels to sell, a basket of mussels only cost about 15,000 - 20,000 VND. I felt that life was really deadlocked, so after finishing high school, I decided not to study anymore and went to work. But after a while, I received a notice to join the army and go for two years. After leaving the army, I stayed home for a while but had nothing to do, so I decided to go to the South to find opportunities. When I left, I determined that I just needed to find a place to escape my difficulties," the actor shared.

Taking a bus alone to the South, Ha Viet Dung said he started making a living by typing scrap paper in Dong Thap. After that, the actor went to Ho Chi Minh City to find work, choosing places that provided food and accommodation so he wouldn't have to rent a room. He used to work at a wedding restaurant, earning a salary of 1.4 million VND/month. According to the actor, his life went through many turning points. Because when he was working as a waiter at a restaurant, Ha Viet Dung was introduced by someone to study modeling and then fell in love with the modeling profession. From this opportunity, he became known to many people, gradually having the opportunity to participate in movies.

In addition to his successful career, Ha Viet Dung is also admired for his happy married life with his beautiful wife Ha Thi Nhung, a Thai ethnic. The couple got married in 2018 and have a 5-year-old daughter. Sharing about the story of knowing each other for 2 months before getting married, Ha Viet Dung's wife said: "Mr. Dung and I met each other through a connection from a younger sister in the village. After getting married, Ha Viet Dung and his wife initially started their business in Da Nang. The actor admitted that the first stage was difficult because both of them lacked business experience.
