Nghe An women actively participate in building new rural areas
With the viewpoint that "work must be specific and results must be measurable", Women's Unions at all levels in Nghe An have actively participated in building new rural areas.
The "key" is environmental protection
Coming to Quynh Dien commune (Quynh Luu), the first impression is a "green, clean, beautiful" rural space. This achievement comes from the awareness and actions of each person, in which women play an important role.
Assigned by the Party Committee to implement environmental criteria, the Women's Union of Quynh Dien commune has implemented many practical models such as "Women's Union 5 no, 3 clean", "Family 5 no, 3 clean", "Classification and treatment of waste at source". The union also actively propagates and mobilizes members to contribute to building covers for 43 ditches, planting and caring for roads with Lagerstroemia and white jade trees.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha - Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Quynh Dien commune affirmed: "Since the construction of the ditch covers, the situation of odor pollution and waste has significantly decreased. Waste classification at the source helps limit waste released into the environment. Activities such as "Clean Saturday" and "Green Sunday" also contribute to preserving the rural landscape".
In many other localities, women's unions have identified their "key" task as implementing environmental criteria with specific programs. For example, the Women's Union of Nam Dan district has built 66 models of "Residential clusters: clean houses, beautiful gardens, flower-filled alleys", 6 models of "Families with 5 haves, 3 cleans", undertaken 113 self-managed road sections, and organized 76 painting campaigns for electric poles and fences. The total cost of implementing projects and tasks for building new rural areas in this district is up to more than 2 billion VND.

Photo: Mai HoaIn Yen Thanh district, over the past 3 years, the Women's Union has built 18 "Green Roads", 347 "Green, clean, beautiful road sections", 746 "Clean houses, beautiful gardens" models, and more than 17,500 household trash pits.
In Quynh Luu district, in 2024, Women's Unions at all levels registered to carry out 115 projects, plant and take care of 55 green tree-lined roads, and build 57 models for collecting and classifying household waste.
Contribute to implementing 12/19 new rural criteria
In line with the goal of building new rural areas in association with the functions of the organization, the Women's Union at all levels of Nghe An has participated in implementing 12/19 new rural criteria. In addition to environmental protection, the union at all levels has also actively contributed to the criteria on income, multidimensional poverty reduction, production organization, and rural economic development.
In addition to participating in implementing environmental protection and food safety criteria; Comrade Nguyen Thi Quynh Hoa - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, President of the Provincial Women's Union said: Women's unions at all levels have contributed to implementing criteria on income, multidimensional poverty reduction, production organization and rural economic development, and labor; the focus and breakthrough is to support women in economic development, starting businesses, and successfully starting businesses.
In 3 years (2021 - 2023), the Women's Union has supported the establishment of 12 cooperatives; 104 cooperative groups and affiliated groups managed by women. Unions at all levels have coordinated to open vocational training classes and introduce vocational training to more than 37,000 female workers, of which more than 28,000 workers have jobs; introduced jobs in enterprises and exported labor to nearly 26,000 female workers.
In addition, social security activities have been promoted such as supporting livelihood models, interest-free loans, giving health insurance cards, building 221 "Shelters of Love" and repairing 259 houses. The Association also connected organizations and individuals to become "Godmothers" for 1,771 orphans, with a total commitment of nearly 12 billion VND. In 3 years (2022 - 2024), the whole province has helped 2,034 households with women escape poverty and near-poverty.
The Women's Union at all levels also promotes communication, organizes clubs and competitions to raise awareness and sense of law compliance, especially in mountainous areas and ethnic minority areas. At the same time, it builds models of "Safe villages for women and children".
From the achieved results, the association at all levels is determined to continue to innovate, create, carry out practical and sustainable tasks, contributing to building new rural areas and civilized urban areas, while preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of Nghe An.
