Women in Nghe An actively participate in building new rural areas.
With the perspective that "actions must be concrete, and results must be measurable," women's associations at all levels in Nghe An have actively participated in building new rural areas.

The key is environmental protection.
Upon arriving in Quynh Dien commune (Quynh Luu district), the first impression is of a "green, clean, and beautiful" rural landscape. This achievement stems from the awareness and actions of each individual citizen, in which women play a crucial role.
Tasked by the Party Committee with implementing environmental criteria, the Women's Union of Quynh Dien commune has deployed many practical models such as "Women's Union Branch with 5 No's and 3 Cleanliness Standards", "Family with 5 No's and 3 Cleanliness Standards", and "Waste Sorting and Treatment at Source". The Union also actively propagated and mobilized members to contribute to building covers for 43 irrigation ditches, and planting and caring for crape myrtle and white jade trees along the roads.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Quynh Dien commune, affirmed: "Since the installation of covers on the drainage ditches, the problem of foul odors and waste pollution has significantly decreased. Sorting waste at the source helps to limit waste released into the environment. Activities such as 'Clean Saturday' and 'Green Sunday' also contribute to preserving the rural landscape."

In many other localities, women's associations have identified their "key" task as implementing environmental criteria with specific programs. For example, the Women's Union of Nam Dan district has built 66 models of "Residential clusters: clean houses, beautiful gardens, flower-filled alleys," 6 models of "Families with 5 essentials and 3 clean aspects," taken responsibility for 113 self-managed road sections, and organized 76 campaigns to paint and repaint utility poles and fences. The total cost of implementing these rural development projects and tasks in this district amounted to more than 2 billion VND.
The "Clean House, Adjacent Model Garden" model was developed by the Women's Association of Quang Thanh commune (Yen Thanh district). In Quynh Luu district, in 2024, women's associations at all levels registered to implement 115 projects, planted and cared for 55 green roads, and built 57 models for collecting and sorting household waste.

Contributing to the implementation of 12 out of 19 criteria for new rural development.
Adhering closely to the goal of building new rural areas in line with the functions of the women's association, the Nghe An Women's Union at all levels has participated in implementing 12 out of 19 criteria for new rural areas. Besides environmental protection, the associations have also actively contributed to criteria related to income, multidimensional poverty reduction, production organization, and rural economic development.
In addition to participating in the implementation of environmental protection and food safety criteria, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Hoa - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, President of the Provincial Women's Union, said: Women's unions at all levels have contributed to the implementation of criteria related to income, multidimensional poverty reduction, production organization and rural economic development, and labor; the focus and breakthrough is supporting women in economic development, starting businesses, and achieving success.
Over the three years (2021-2023), women's organizations supported the establishment of 12 cooperatives and 104 women-managed cooperative groups and associations. The various levels of the organization coordinated the opening of vocational training classes and facilitated vocational training for over 37,000 female workers, of whom over 28,000 found employment; they also facilitated employment in businesses and overseas labor export for nearly 26,000 female workers.

In addition, social welfare activities have been promoted, such as supporting livelihood models, providing interest-free loans, donating health insurance cards, building 221 "Houses of Love," and repairing 259 houses. The association also connected organizations and individuals to act as "Godmothers" for 1,771 orphans, with a total committed support of nearly 12 billion VND. In the three years from 2022 to 2024, the entire province helped 2,034 households with women escape poverty and near-poverty.

Women's Unions at all levels are also stepping up communication efforts and organizing clubs and competitions to raise awareness and promote compliance with the law, especially in mountainous areas and areas inhabited by ethnic minorities. At the same time, they are developing models of "Safe Villages for Women and Children".
Based on the achievements, the various levels of the association are determined to continue innovating and creating, implementing practical and sustainable tasks, contributing to building new rural areas and civilized urban areas, while preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of Nghe An province.
