Nghe An province is implementing a measles vaccination program for over 58,000 children.
In this second phase of the campaign, 58,526 children aged 6 months to 10 years will be vaccinated against measles. The second phase of the campaign will conclude on March 31, 2025.

The plan sets a target of increasing the rate of immune response.measlesIn the community, the aim is to proactively prevent disease outbreaks and reduce the incidence and mortality rates of measles. Specifically, 95% of eligible children who have not been vaccinated or have not received all the required doses of the measles-containing vaccine will receive one dose of the measles-containing vaccine... The plan will be implemented immediately after the Ministry of Health allocates the vaccine (March 20, 2025); vaccination will be completed no later than March 31, 2025.

The target groups for vaccination in this second phase of the measles vaccination campaign include: Children aged 6 to under 9 months; children aged 9 to under 12 months; children aged 1-5 years who have not received all doses of the measles-containing vaccine and will receive catch-up doses (using the measles-containing vaccine in the Expanded Immunization Program according to the 2025 Expanded Immunization Program Plan); children aged 6-10 years who have not received all doses of the measles-containing vaccine as prescribed... The total number of children in these four groups is 58,526.
Vaccination activities in the second phase of the measles vaccination campaign are being organized at fixed vaccination facilities at commune, ward, and town health stations, as well as at the announced mobile vaccination points.
The Nghe An Department of Health requires health units to proactively conduct investigations and compile lists of children in schools and communities to avoid missing any eligible individuals, especially in areas with fluctuating populations; to strengthen information and communication efforts to raise awareness, share information, and encourage parents with children aged 6 months to 10 years who have not received all required measles vaccine doses to participate in vaccination; to properly prepare, receive, store, and distribute vaccines and vaccination supplies according to regulations; to organize and conduct vaccinations safely; and to report results promptly and in accordance with regulations.
The Nghe An Department of Health assigned the Provincial Center for Disease Control to develop a plan for approval by the Department of Health and to implement the measles and measles-rubella vaccination program for all target groups in the province; to provide professional materials to mass media agencies, departments, and organizations for communication and propaganda work on the meaning, purpose, and benefits of measles and measles-rubella vaccination; and to organize propaganda before and during the measles and measles-rubella vaccination campaign.


The Provincial Center for Disease Control receives, stores, and distributes sufficient vaccines and immunization supplies, and transfers vaccines to meet the needs of the measles and measles-rubella vaccination plan at units and localities in the province; it also coordinates with functional departments of the Provincial Department of Health in inspecting and monitoring the implementation in localities.
The health centers of districts, towns, and Vinh City will base their plans on the Department of Health's plan to develop and implement the campaign locally; based on the needs of the communes, they will forecast and receive vaccines and immunization supplies from the Provincial Center for Disease Control, ensuring sufficient supply for the needs of localities within the district; assign staff to supervise and support immunization points in their managed areas; deploy two mobile emergency teams during immunization days, ready to support lower-level facilities when needed; and submit reports as required.
Public and private healthcare facilities should promptly provide treatment and handle cases of adverse reactions after vaccination; mobile emergency teams should be deployed during vaccination days, ready to support lower-level facilities when requested (provide the emergency team's phone number).
Based on the plan of the Department of Health and the Health Center, commune health stations will develop plans and organize the implementation of the campaign at fixed and mobile vaccination points in their areas; review and compile a list of children aged 6 months to 10 years who have not received all the required doses of measles vaccine; prepare a forecast of vaccines and vaccination supplies; coordinate with local radio stations and organizations to strengthen the dissemination of information about the purpose and target groups of the campaign; organize the measles vaccination campaign to be completed by March 31, 2025; and report the results after the campaign ends.
