Nghe An deploys measles vaccination for more than 58,000 children
In this second phase of the campaign, 58,526 children aged 6 months to 10 years will be vaccinated against measles. The second phase of the campaign ends on March 31, 2025.
On March 20, Nghe An Department of Health issued Plan No. 951/KH-SYT to implement the campaign.vaccinationMeasles prevention vaccine in Nghe An province in 2025, phase 2.
The plan sets out the goal of increasing the rate of immunity against the disease.measlesin the community to proactively prevent epidemics, reduce morbidity and mortality from measles. Specifically, 95% of children who are eligible for vaccination who have not been vaccinated or have not received enough doses of measles-containing vaccine as prescribed will be vaccinated with 1 dose of measles-containing vaccine... The plan will be implemented immediately after the Ministry of Health allocates vaccines (March 20, 2025); vaccination will be completed no later than March 31, 2025.

The subjects vaccinated in this second measles vaccination campaign include: Children from 6 months to under 9 months old; children from 9 months to under 12 months old; children from 1-5 years old who have not been fully vaccinated with measles-containing vaccines and are given catch-up doses (using measles-containing vaccines in the Expanded Immunization Program according to the Expanded Immunization Plan in 2025); children from 6-10 years old who have not been fully vaccinated with measles-containing vaccines according to regulations... The total number of children in the above 4 groups is 58,526.
Vaccination activities in the second measles vaccination campaign are organized at fixed vaccination facilities at commune, ward and town health stations and at announced mobile vaccination points.
Nghe An Department of Health requires medical units to proactively conduct investigations and make lists of children in localities at schools and in the community to avoid missing subjects, especially in areas with population fluctuations; promote information and communication work to raise awareness, share information, and mobilize parents with children from 6 months to 10 years old who have not received enough measles vaccine doses as prescribed to participate in vaccination; carry out the planning, reception, preservation, and distribution of vaccines and vaccination materials in accordance with regulations; organize and carry out vaccination to ensure safety; and report results promptly and in accordance with regulations.
Nghe An Department of Health assigned the Provincial Center for Disease Control to advise on developing a plan to submit to the Department of Health for approval and implementation of the plan to vaccinate against measles and measles-Rubella for subjects throughout the province; provide professional documents to mass media agencies, departments, branches and organizations to serve the communication and propaganda work on the meaning, purpose and benefits of vaccinating against measles and measles-Rubella; organize propaganda before and during the implementation of the measles and measles-Rubella vaccination campaign.


The Provincial Center for Disease Control receives, preserves, and distributes sufficient vaccines and vaccination materials, and transfers vaccines to meet the Measles and Measles-Rubella vaccination implementation plan at units and localities in the province; coordinates with functional departments of the Department of Health in inspecting and supervising the implementation in localities.
Medical Centers of districts, towns and Vinh city shall base on the Plan of the Department of Health to develop plans, organize and implement the campaign locally; base on the needs of communes, plan and receive vaccines and vaccination materials at the Provincial Center for Disease Control, ensure adequate supply for the needs of localities in the district; arrange staff to monitor and support vaccination sites in the management area; arrange 02 mobile emergency teams on vaccination days, ready to support lower levels when requested; make reports according to regulations.
Public and non-public medical facilities shall promptly provide treatment and promptly handle post-vaccination reactions; arrange mobile emergency teams on vaccination days, and be ready to support lower-level facilities when requested (provide the emergency team's phone number).
Commune health stations, based on the Plan of the Department of Health and the Health Center, develop plans and organize the implementation of the campaign at fixed vaccination points and mobile vaccination points in the area; review and make a list of children from 6 months to 10 years old who have not received enough doses of measles vaccine as prescribed; make a reserve of vaccines and vaccination materials; coordinate with radio stations, local organizations and unions to strengthen propaganda about the purpose, subjects... of the campaign; organize the measles vaccination campaign to be completed by March 31, 2025; report the implementation results after the end of the campaign./.
