This price increase is attributed to the resurgence in fertilizer demand in major farming regions as the summer-autumn crop season approaches. Simultaneously, rising input and transportation costs are also contributing to the increase in retail prices at dealerships.
Conversely, other fertilizers such as powdered potassium and NPK fertilizers have maintained their prices. Potassium fertilizers from Ca Mau and Phu My are both selling at 500,000 – 560,000 VND/bag. NPK 16-16-8 fertilizers from the three brands Ca Mau, Phu My, and Dau Trau remain at prices ranging from 650,000 – 750,000 VND/bag. Notably, NPK 20-20-15 TE from Binh Dien continues to be priced high, fluctuating between 900,000 – 950,000 VND/bag.
Prices for Lam Thao phosphate fertilizer in this area have not yet been adjusted, remaining in the range of 290,000 – 310,000 VND/bag.

In the northern region, the fertilizer market remained almost unchanged compared to yesterday. The price of urea from the two popular brands, Ha Bac and Phu My, remained stable at around 570,000 – 600,000 VND/bag. Lam Thao superphosphate fertilizer – a cheap fertilizer widely used by farmers – currently maintains a price of 260,000 – 290,000 VND/bag.
Viet Nhat and Phu My NPK 16-16-8 fertilizers also maintained their common prices of 730,000 – 780,000 VND/bag, while Viet Nhat NPK 16-16-8 + TE – which has a higher micronutrient content – is listed at around 870,000 – 890,000 VND/bag.

For powdered potassium fertilizer, brands like Canada and Ha Anh maintain stable prices, ranging from 500,000 to 550,000 VND per bag.
The stable fertilizer prices in the North are attributed to the fact that demand for fertilizers has not yet increased significantly, as the northern provinces are just beginning to prepare for the summer-autumn crop. Meanwhile, in the South, especially in the Central Highlands and Southeast regions, the peak season for tending coffee, pepper, and cashew trees is underway, leading to higher fertilizer demand and consequently a slight increase in prices.
Fertilizer price forecast
Many dealers and traders predict that fertilizer prices may increase slightly in April due to peak domestic demand. However, the extent of the increase will depend heavily on global fertilizer price trends, transportation costs, and raw material import policies.
Currently, the price of imported fertilizers remains high due to ongoing logistics costs and rising energy prices, which could continue to put pressure on domestic prices in the near future.
