Previously, on March 20, 2025, Ms. Ha Thi H., residing in Tan Thang commune, Quynh Luu district, discovered that a large quantity of gold she had hidden in her cupboard had been stolen. She immediately reported the incident to the authorities. Upon receiving the information, Team No. 1 ( thuộc the Office of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Nghe An Provincial Police) coordinated with the Tan Thang Commune Police (Quynh Luu) to promptly verify the information and identify the suspect.
During the investigation, the task force identified the perpetrator of the theft as Hoang Vu Lap (born in 1997), residing in Lang Giang commune, Van Ban district, Lao Cai province. On the night of March 20, 2025, a task force immediately set out to apprehend the suspect.
In the early morning of March 21, 2025, the task force, in coordination with the Lao Cai Provincial Police, arrested Hoang Vu Lap while he was hiding on a passenger bus in Tan Thuong commune, Van Ban district, Lao Cai province. They seized 21 taels of gold that the suspect had concealed in his jacket pocket.
At the police station, Hoang Vu Lap confessed to having a prior acquaintance with Ms. Ha Thi H. Taking advantage of her carelessness and negligence, and needing money for personal expenses, he stole 8 items, including: 1 chain necklace with a gold-colored octagonal metal pendant; 1 bracelet made of interconnected links; 4 gold-colored metal rings, round and smooth, designed as coin rings with a 5-petal flower face; 1 pair of gold-colored metal earrings...
Currently, the Investigation Police Department of Nghe An province has issued a decision to prosecute the suspect in accordance with the law.
