On January 17th, Vinh City Police announced that they had successfully cracked a case and arrested three suspects for theft.

Previously, the Vinh City Police received a report from Mr. LNT (born in 1973), residing in Duc Tho block, Hung Loc ward, stating that: On the night of January 8th, his house was broken into by thieves who stole 600 kg of aluminum, one Kitar 3 OHP air compressor, two XingFa aluminum door punching machines, five sets of iron scaffolding, and some other construction materials, totaling over 170 million VND.

On the same day, Mr. MTL (born in 1971), residing in Ha Huy Tap ward, reported that his family had been burglarized, with thieves stealing a Vertu Signature mobile phone worth 70 million VND and some money from a car parked in the yard.

To concentrate forces and resources for the investigation and clarification, the Vinh City Police established a special case, assigning the Criminal Police Team to lead it.

To avoid detection by law enforcement, after committing the crime, the suspects divided the stolen property among themselves, moved to other locations to sell the stolen goods, and used the money for personal expenses and gaming.

Therefore, the Special Investigation Team faced many difficulties in the process of verifying and recovering assets. The Special Investigation Team assigned task forces to follow up on even the smallest clues to apprehend the suspects.

Implementing a coordinated set of operational measures, on January 15th, the special task force arrested three suspects: Le Van Ngo (born in 1990), residing in Quy Hop town, Quy Hop district; Phan Huu Phuoc (born in 2000) and Ngo Duc Hoa (born in 1991), both residing in Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district.

At the police station, the suspects initially admitted to their illegal activities. Due to their prior acquaintance, they had discussed and agreed on roles to commit thefts to obtain money for personal expenses and gaming.

Accordingly, Ngo, Phuoc, and Hoa rode together on a motorbike, traveling along various roads, taking advantage of the carelessness and lack of vigilance of families, especially at night when homeowners were asleep, to break in and steal property, which they then sold and divided the money among themselves for spending.

Initially, the police determined that the suspects had successfully carried out two thefts with a total value of approximately 250 million VND.

Currently, the investigation into this case is ongoing and being expanded.
