She remembered the difficult times when Dai was imprisoned, along with the times Ba Sia had secretly helped her without her knowing. However, the pain of losing her husband and her responsibility to Quan still prevented her from opening her heart completely.
The climax of episode 17 may take place when Quan accidentally falls while playing on the beach, and Ba Sia appears in time to take the boy home. This action makes Hai Tho unable to continue to coldly reject him. She thanks Ba Sia with emotional eyes, as a sign that the wall between the two is gradually being removed.
