The 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam on April 30th is creating a wave of "patriotic coffee" at many cafes in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and other major cities. Many cafes have quickly decorated their spaces in a style strongly reflecting national identity, from the red flag with a yellow star, maps of Vietnam, to symbols of the reunification day. Not only has this created a widespread effect on social media, but many cafes have also recorded spectacular increases in revenue, in some cases up to 200%, with full tables lasting for a whole week.
Mr. Ha, the owner of a cafe in Ho Chi Minh City, said that thanks to capitalizing on holiday trends, his cafe's revenue has skyrocketed, especially on weekends. However, decorating in a way that is both historically accurate and modern and attractive is a major challenge. His cafe must accurately depict the map of Vietnam, especially the islands and coastal areas, while creating a bright space for customers to easily take photos. The drink menu is also designed around values such as "Independence - Freedom - Happiness," using 100% local ingredients.
The wave of holiday decorations isn't limited to large chain stores; it's spreading to smaller, independent cafes. Items like national flag-shaped cakes, balloons, stickers, and commemorative-themed cups have transformed these coffee spaces into attractive destinations, drawing in young people to take photos, share them, and spread a sense of national pride on social media.

Contrary to initial predictions of a sharp decline, the organization has raised its forecast for arabica coffee production from 38.35 million bags to around 40 million bags, or even higher. While production is still expected to be lower than the previous year, the extent of the decline is no longer as severe as initially feared.
