Adopt a healthy diet.

Focus on a balanced diet, eat less sugar, and consume plenty of vegetables, lean protein, whole grains, and healthy fats. You should avoid processed foods, sugary drinks, and fried foods as they contribute to fat accumulation in the liver.

You can supplement your diet with foods that are good for the liver, such as berries, leafy green vegetables, and fatty fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids.

Exercise regularly

According to Dr. Lovkesh Anand, who works at Max Hospital in Dwarka, excess fat, especially liver fat, can be burned through regular exercise.

Aim for at least 150 minutes or more of moderate-intensity exercise per week, such as swimming, cycling, or brisk walking. Physical activity helps burn stored fat in the liver and boosts metabolism.

Maintain a healthy weight.

Being overweight or obese is associated with many medical conditions, increasing the risk of diseases including fatty liver disease. Good weight management can prevent fatty liver disease, reduce hepatitis and cirrhosis, and lower the risk of liver cancer.

Limit alcohol consumption.

Alcohol can worsen liver damage, so it's important to limit or eliminate alcohol consumption to allow the liver to recover. Alcohol use increases the amount of fat in the liver. Over time, this can lead to hepatitis and cirrhosis.

Stay well-hydrated.

Staying adequately hydrated helps support digestion and allows the liver to function more efficiently in processing toxins and fats.

Drinking water promotes healthy liver function by facilitating digestion and eliminating toxins. To maintain liver health, try to drink enough water every day.
