Gasoline and diesel prices today, April 27, 2025: Slight recovery.
Today's fuel prices (April 27, 2025): World oil prices increased slightly, but overall for the week still show a downward trend.
According to Oilprice at 4:30 AM, Brent crude oil was priced at $66.91 per barrel, up 0.48%, while WTI crude oil stood at $63.17 per barrel, up 0.37%.
In April, the average price of crude oil on the market fell by nearly 9%. WTI oil decreased by approximately 9.3%, while Brent oil fell by 8.3%. Compared to the same period last year, crude oil prices have now fallen sharply, by 24% to nearly 25%.
According to Reuters, oil prices were partially supported by China's temporary exemption of import tariffs on some US pharmaceuticals. This move raised expectations of a potential easing of US-China trade tensions, although Beijing quickly rejected President Trump's claims that tariff negotiations were progressing.
However, experts believe the outlook for oil prices in the short term is not very promising. Ole Hansen from Saxo Bank argues that trade tensions between major oil-consuming countries persist, while OPEC+ may accelerate its production increase plans from June, making it difficult for oil prices to rise sharply.
Besides supply pressures, geopolitical factors are also beginning to have an impact. Notably, the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump's special envoy on April 25th was considered "constructive." If disagreements over Ukraine are narrowed, the supply of oil from Russia to the international market could increase.
Domestic retail gasoline and diesel prices on April 27, 2025, will be applied according to the adjustment period from 3 PM on April 24, as announced by the Joint Ministry of Finance - Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Specifically, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by 740 VND/liter, reaching 19,238 VND/liter. RON 95 gasoline increased by 782 VND/liter, reaching 19,638 VND/liter. Diesel fuel increased by 487 VND/liter, reaching 17,520 VND/liter. Kerosene also increased by 531 VND/liter, reaching 17,715 VND/liter, while mazut increased by 564 VND/kg, reaching 16,524 VND/kg.
During this price adjustment period, the Inter-Ministerial Committee did not make any contributions to or use of the Fuel Price Stabilization Fund for any product.
Since the beginning of 2025, domestic gasoline and diesel prices have undergone 17 adjustments, with 7 price increases, 7 price decreases, and 3 periods of fluctuating prices.
