Nghe An Tourism Development Seminar 2025: Many suggestions from the Northern Famtrip delegation

Regional connectivity, positioning of unique products, developing year-round tourism and exploiting new markets are the key contents proposed by tourism businesses, experts and management agencies to improve Nghe An tourism, towards more sustainable and professional development.

On the morning of May 17, in Vinh City, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An organized a seminar to evaluate tourism products and services after the survey program (Famtrip) by a group of Northern travel and tourism businesses on the occasion of the 2025 Lotus Village Festival and the inauguration of the "Uncle Ho Visits His Hometown" monument.

Attending the discussion, on the Famtrip side, there were Mr. Tran Trung Hieu - Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism; Truong Quoc Hung - Chairman of Hanoi UNESCO Travel Club; leaders of specialized departments under Hanoi Department of Tourism and representatives of more than 60 leaders of travel and tourism service businesses who are members of Hanoi UNESCO Travel Club from provinces and cities. On the side of Nghe An province, there was Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; along with leaders of relevant departments, units, travel businesses, and tourism service establishments in the area.

The seminar is an important activity in the tourism development cooperation program between Nghe An and Hanoi in 2025.

In recent times, the Hanoi Department of Tourism and the Nghe An Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism have regularly cooperated and supported each other in the fields of culture, sports and tourism in general and the tourism sector in particular. With the close cooperation and association of the two localities, the active participation of members of the Hanoi UNESCO Travel Club and tourism service providers in Nghe An, it has contributed to positioning Nghe An tourism destinations and Hanoi tourism destinations in the domestic and foreign markets.

In Nghe An, the drastic direction of the entire political system, the linkage in tourism development of localities, especially with Hanoi city; the active contribution of tourism businesses and synchronous investment in infrastructure factors... have promoted the province's tourism growth in recent years.

With the goal of gradually developing Nghe An tourism more comprehensively, quickly and sustainably in the spirit of Directive 08 of the Prime Minister and the goals set out in the Nghe An Tourism Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2035, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An actively coordinates and links more closely with the Department of Tourism of Hanoi City; at the same time, actively connects and exploits Nghe An tourist destinations with the cross-Vietnam tourism route of businesses belonging to the UNESCO Hanoi Travel Club.

Accordingly, during 3 days from May 15-17, the Famtrip delegation with the participation of more than 30 businesses from Hanoi surveyed many destinations and outstanding tourism products in Nghe An such as:Kim Lien relic site, VinWonders Cua Hoi, Do Luong Legend Camping & Resort, Vinh City Night Walking Street, Muong Thanh Dien Lam...

At the discussion, famtrip members highly appreciated the potential, infrastructure and product diversity of Nghe An tourism, and proposed a number of recommendations on improving service quality, improving connectivity and promoting products according to market demand.

Accordingly, many enthusiastic opinions said that: Nghe An tourism is still facing many problems, such as seasonal development, lack of unique products and professional "packaging", human resources not meeting service standards, and unclear communication... Many potentials such as night tourism, railway tourism, spiritual tourism, and border tourism have not been effectively exploited. High-class accommodation facilities are still lacking, and the stimulus policy for the low season is not clear.

Businesses and experts suggest developing seasonal - route - theme tours (Sen Village night tour, journey following Uncle Ho's footsteps, Western spring tour...); enhancing digital experiences (applying multi-level explanations via QR codes, live performances); deeper regional connections with Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Laos, Thailand; organizing running races, cultural festivals with the participation of KOLs; training human resources systematically; organizing tours to exploit services for seminar subjects, students, students... to exploit the low season...

Mr. Tran Trung Hieu - Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism emphasized: Organizing this survey delegation not only contributes to promoting product development links, but also is an opportunity for businesses from both sides to connect and build practical and effective tours. Hanoi commits to accompany and support Nghe An in promoting, training human resources and sharing experiences in destination management.

Concluding the discussion, Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh respectfully thanked the enthusiastic and professional opinions of the delegates and businesses. The Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized the desire to improve the situation of seasonal tourism, develop new tourism products such as "Cua Lo without winter", spiritual tourism, education, sports, night tours of Uncle Ho's hometown... At the same time, she affirmed that the Department will strengthen communication, promote digital transformation, improve the quality of human resources and proactively connect regions, expand international markets through Laos, Thailand... In the coming time, Nghe An will continue to accompanybusinessin building and promoting sustainable tourism products, aiming to attract visitors all year round and affirming its position as an attractive destination on the Vietnam tourism map.
