Busting 2 drug cases, seizing 1,600 synthetic drug pills
Deploying forces to stay in the area, coordinating with the Commune Police to check, detect, fight, and arrest criminals and violators of drug laws, in just one day, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, Nghe An Provincial Police successfully broke 2 cases, arrested 6 subjects for illegal drug trafficking, seized 1,600 synthetic drug pills, 500 grams of crystal meth.
Accordingly, implementing Plan No. 483 of the Ministry of Public Security, Plan No. 1811 of the Provincial Police on the peak of general screening, detection, statistics, management of drug addicts, illegal drug users, people under post-rehabilitation management and fighting and eradicating complicated drug hotspots, at about 11:45 a.m. on May 20, in the area near Vach Bac bridge, road 538C, Do Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department presided over, coordinated with professional departments and the Police of the communes: Xuan Thap, Dien Nguyen (Dien Chau district), Do Thanh (Yen Thanh district) successfully broke the case, caught red-handed Dang Van Ton (born 1987), residing in Dien Nguyen commune, Dien Chau district for the act of illegal drug trafficking; seized 1,600 synthetic drug pills (pink phien form), 1 motorbike and related evidence.

Expanding the investigation, the authorities simultaneously arrested Dang Quang Dat (born in 1991), residing in Dien Tho commune, Dien Chau district; Tran Ngoc Anh (born in 1985) and Nguyen Van Anh (born in 1974), both residing in Do Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, for the act of illegal drug trafficking.

The police identified Nguyen Van Anh as the ringleader. Taking advantage of his regular business dealings in Laos, Anh bought drugs and brought them to Dien Chau and Yen Thanh districts, colluding with the above subjects to organize drug retail "agents" in the area by frequently changing phone numbers, contact methods and transaction locations (train tracks, cemeteries, bus stations...).
In particular, the subjects used money transfers via banking applications to text messages about illegal drug trading activities. This is a new and sophisticated criminal method to avoid detection by the authorities. It is known that the subjects had criminal records.
Next, through the work of grasping the situation, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department grasped information about the drug trafficking and illegal drug trafficking line from the northern provinces to Nghe An for consumption. Conducting a quick verification, the unit determined that the drug ring was led by Phan Thi Thu Ha (born in 1977), residing in Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province. Carrying out professional measures, the functional forces continued to identify Pham Hoang Chau (born in 1985), residing in Trung Do ward, Vinh city, as an important link in this ring.

Faced with that situation, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department reported to the Provincial Police leadership to establish a special project to fight and eradicate. Implementing the Special Project Plan and applying synchronous professional measures, at about 22:40 on May 20, in the area of Hung Nguyen town, Hung Nguyen district, the Special Project Board discovered and arrested Pham Hoang Chau and Phan Thi Thu Ha for the act of illegal drug trafficking, confiscating 500 grams of crystal meth, 1 motorbike and 2 mobile phones. It is known that Phan Thi Thu Ha had 3 previous convictions for illegal drug possession and 1 previous conviction for illegal drug trafficking.

Currently, Nghe An Provincial Police are continuing to expand the investigation and handle the subjects according to the provisions of the law.
