Deploying forces to monitor the area and coordinating with the commune police to investigate, detect, combat, and arrest drug-related criminals and violators, in just one day, the Drug Crime Investigation Department of the Nghe An Provincial Police successfully cracked two cases, arresting six individuals for illegally buying and selling narcotics, seizing 1,600 synthetic drug pills and 500 grams of methamphetamine.

Accordingly, implementing Plan No. 483 of the Ministry of Public Security and Plan No. 1811 of the Provincial Police on the peak period of comprehensive review, detection, statistics, and management of drug addicts, illegal drug users, and those under post-rehabilitation management, as well as combating and eradicating complex drug hotspots, at approximately 11:45 AM on May 20th, in the area near Vach Bac Bridge, Road 538C, in Do Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, in coordination with professional departments and the police of Xuan Thap, Dien Nguyen (Dien Chau district), and Do Thanh (Yen Thanh district) communes, successfully cracked a case, apprehending Dang Van Ton (born in 1987), residing in Dien Nguyen commune, Dien Chau district, for the illegal buying and selling of drugs; seizing 1,600 synthetic drug pills (pink pills), one motorbike, and related evidence.

In an expanded investigation, law enforcement officers simultaneously arrested Dang Quang Dat (born in 1991), residing in Dien Tho commune, Dien Chau district; Tran Ngoc Anh (born in 1985) and Nguyen Van Anh (born in 1974), both residing in Do Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, for the illegal buying and selling of narcotics.

The police identified Nguyen Van Anh as the ringleader. Taking advantage of his frequent business dealings in Laos, Anh purchased drugs and brought them back to Dien Chau and Yen Thanh districts. He colluded with other individuals to organize drug retail "dealerships" in the area, constantly changing phone numbers, communication methods, and transaction locations (railways, cemeteries, bus stations, etc.).

In particular, the suspects used money transfers via banking applications to exchange messages about the illegal buying and selling of narcotics. This is a new and sophisticated criminal tactic aimed at avoiding detection by law enforcement. It is known that the suspects have previous criminal records.

Subsequently, through intelligence gathering, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department obtained information about a drug trafficking ring transporting and selling narcotics illegally from northern provinces to Nghe An province. A quick verification revealed that the drug ring was led by Phan Thi Thu Ha (born in 1977), residing in Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province. Further investigation identified Pham Hoang Chau (born in 1985), residing in Trung Do ward, Vinh city, as a key link in this ring.

In response to this situation, the Drug Crime Investigation Department reported to the Provincial Police leadership to establish a special task force to combat and dismantle the operation. Implementing the special task force plan and applying a comprehensive range of operational measures, at approximately 10:40 PM on May 20th, in Hung Nguyen town, Hung Nguyen district, the task force apprehended Pham Hoang Chau and Phan Thi Thu Ha for illegally buying and selling narcotics. They seized 500 grams of methamphetamine, one motorbike, and two mobile phones. It is known that Phan Thi Thu Ha previously had three convictions for illegally possessing narcotics and one conviction for illegally buying and selling narcotics.
