Nghe An: A series of hydroelectric reservoirs operate to discharge floodwaters
It is expected that from 2 p.m. on May 30, Khe Bo Hydropower Reservoir will increase the water discharge to ensure safety. Previously, a series of hydropower plants in Nghe An operated to regulate the water in the reservoir.
At 9:22 a.m. on May 30, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense received Notice No. 131 dated May 30 from Khe Bo Hydropower Plant, regarding the operation and regulation of water in the Khe Bo Hydropower Plant reservoir to ensure the safety of the project.

To ensure the safe regulation of water in Khe Bo Hydropower Plant's reservoir according to the approved single-reservoir and inter-reservoir procedures in the Ca River basin, Khe Bo Hydropower Plant plans to operate and regulate water in Khe Bo Hydropower Plant's reservoir as follows:
Estimated time of discharge through spillway compartment:At 2:00 PM, May 30, 2024.
Discharge flow:Total discharge from approximately 500m3/s to 1,200m3/s (discharge through the generators and through the spillway) and may vary depending on the water flow to the lake.
Time to end water discharge through spillway compartment:Until the water flow to the lake is less than the electricity generation flow through the generators.
The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense informs the People's Committees of the districts: Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Anh Son, Do Luong, Thanh Chuong, Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen and Vinh city; Heads of provincial departments, branches and sectors; Road Management Area II to inform the authorities at all levels, agencies, units, investors who are constructing along the river, on the river, owners of water transport vehicles and all people in the area downstream of Khe Bo Hydropower Plant to know and deploy necessary work, ensuring the safety of life and property of the State and people.
Previously, starting from 1:30 a.m. on May 30, a series of hydroelectric reservoirs in the area operated to regulate water to ensure safety: Chau Thang Hydroelectric Reservoir (Muong Noc, Que Phong), Chi Khe Hydroelectric Reservoir (Con Cuong): Nam Giai Hydroelectric Reservoir, Song Quang Hydroelectric Reservoir, Ban Coc Hydroelectric Reservoir (Que Phong), Nam Mo Hydroelectric Reservoir (Ta Ca, Ky Son), Ban Ang Hydroelectric Reservoir (Tuong Duong).
