Nghe An province's budget revenue for the first five months is estimated at 10,846 billion VND.

In the first five months of the year, Nghe An province estimated its budget revenue at 10,846 billion VND, reaching 61.2% of the target set by the Provincial People's Council. Of this, domestic revenue was estimated at 10,069 billion VND, reaching 62.9% of the target.

On the morning of June 3rd, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held its regular monthly meeting for May 2025. Comrade Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - presided over and conducted the meeting.

Co-chairing the meeting were: Bui Thanh An - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van De - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Hoang Phu Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and Phung Thanh Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Attending the meeting were: Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Thai Thi An Chung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; and leaders of departments, boards, and agencies.

Reporting at the meeting, Director of the Department of Finance Trinh Thanh Hai stated that, despite facing many difficulties and impacts, state budget revenue in the area achieved positive results.

In the first five months of the year, estimated revenue reached 10,846 billion VND, achieving 61.2% of the provincial People's Council's budget target and 103.5% compared to the same period last year. Of this, domestic revenue is estimated at 10,069 billion VND, reaching 62.9% of the budget target.

Revenue from land use fees is estimated at 3,610 billion VND. Excluding land use fees and lottery revenue, domestic revenue is estimated at 6,438 billion VND. Revenue from import and export activities is estimated at 701.3 billion VND. Revenue from aid is estimated at 0.299 billion VND. Revenue from mobilized and funded planning is estimated at 75.5 billion VND.

In May 2025, the province approved investment policies/issued investment registration certificates for 7 projects and adjusted 18 projects. The total newly approved and adjusted investment capital was 642.9 billion VND.

In the first five months of the year, the province approved investment policies/issued investment registration certificates for 23 projects and adjusted investment plans for 73 projects. The total newly approved and increased investment capital amounted to VND 8,098.4 billion.

Specifically, foreign direct investment (FDI) was granted to 7 new projects with a total registered investment capital of US$65.2 million, and capital adjustments were made to 6 projects with a total investment increase of US$65.9 million. The total newly granted and adjusted capital amounted to US$131.1 million.

Export turnover in May 2025 is estimated at 320 million USD, an increase of 11.63%, while import turnover is estimated at 200 million USD, equivalent to 80.38% of the same period last year. For the first five months of the year, cumulative export turnover is estimated at 1,461 million USD, and import turnover is estimated at 1,124 million USD.

May marks the beginning of the tourist season in coastal areas (Cua Lo, Dien Chau, Quynh Luu, Hoang Mai, etc.), attracting a large number of visitors for sightseeing and relaxation. It is estimated that in May 2025, the number of tourists will reach 1.4 million, including 850,000 overnight stays, with total tourism revenue reaching 4,163 billion VND.

As of May 20, 2025, the total public investment plan for 2025 has disbursed over VND 2,703 billion, reaching 27.03%. Of this, the concentrated public investment source has disbursed VND 1,063.75 billion, reaching 22.56%.

The Provincial People's Committee has submitted documents to the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Construction to compile a report for the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister on the investment plan, implementation time, and funding sources for the Vinh - Thanh Thuy expressway construction project.

The Industrial Production Index (IIP) in May is estimated to have increased by 18.4% year-on-year, bringing the cumulative increase for the first five months to an estimated 13.89% year-on-year. Specifically, mining increased by 15.91%, manufacturing increased by 13.69%, and electricity, gas, hot water, steam, and air conditioning production and distribution increased by 16.01%.
