Quang Trung Ward (Vinh City) launches online appointment booking software
On the afternoon of June 9, the People's Committee of Quang Trung Ward, Vinh City held a launching ceremony for the online appointment booking software via Zalo at the Reception and Result Delivery Department.
The software is built as a mini app integrated directly on Zalo. People just need to log in to their Zalo account, go to the mini app, search for Quang Trung ward or the provided QR Code, select the group of procedures to transact and schedule according to the desired time frame. The system will automatically issue a queue number and schedule a specific time, helping people not to have to come early to queue or wait for a long time.

This is one of the first ward-level models in the province to deploy a smart appointment booking application on a popular platform with the people, helping to reduce pressure on both the government and citizens.
Speaking at the ceremony, a representative of the ward People's Committee said that the application deployment is part of the digital transformation plan for 2025 and is a practical step to improve the quality of service at the "One-stop shop" department. After merging the two wards of Le Mao and Doi Cung, Quang Trung became the ward with the largest population in Vinh City (more than 38,500 people), with a large number of administrative transactions every day. Meanwhile, the One-stop shop department only has an area of 140m² and many officials and civil servants have to take on many tasks.

"In reality, there are days when people come at 7am but have to wait until noon for their turn. The launch of the software helps people to be proactive with their time, without having to travel, and it is easier for officials to arrange their work schedules more scientifically," said Mr. Dang Hieu Lam - Chairman of Quang Trung Ward People's Committee.
The software is designed to be simple and easy to use, without requiring the installation of new applications or the creation of separate accounts. This is consistent with current technological habits, when most people are used to using Zalo in communication and work processing. Each transaction only requires a few basic operations to complete the appointment booking.

Mr. Vo Van Xo, in block 6, Quang Trung ward, was one of the first people to experience it and shared: "I went on Zalo and made an appointment in just a few minutes. I arrived on time and was called by name, no need to jostle or wait like before. Much more convenient and civilized."
In addition to being convenient for people, the application also helps the One-Stop Department to grasp the number of records each day in advance, thereby arranging appropriate human resources, both handling administrative procedures and ensuring other professional tasks. At the same time, it also contributes to reducing the load on infrastructure and limited space at the reception area.

To effectively apply the software, Quang Trung Ward has requested all officers and civil servants at the One-Stop-Shop to deploy it immediately after the launching ceremony, and at the same time, actively guide people and businesses to get acquainted with the new form of transaction. The Party Committee, Fatherland Front and mass organizations of the ward, and the Party Committees of residential areas have also been mobilized to widely propagate the software's benefits to each household.
The representative of the consulting unit said that they will continue to support the ward during the operation process, and at the same time, record comments from users to update and improve software features in the future.

The online appointment booking application in Quang Trung ward is a typical example of a creative, economical and effective way of reforming administrative procedures at the grassroots level. This is not only the first step in the journey of digitizing public services but also a model that can be replicated in other wards and communes throughout the city.
