Authorities arrested a man driving a luxury car, carrying a gun and drugs, attempting to flee the border.
While inspecting a luxury car belonging to a man attempting to cross the border using an expired passport, border guards in Long An province discovered drugs and two firearms inside.
On the afternoon of June 12th, the My Quy Tay Border Gate Border Guard Station (Duc Hue district, Long An province) announced that, in coordination with the professional department of the Provincial Border Guard and the My Quy Tay Border Gate Customs Team, they had arrested a suspect for illegally possessing narcotics and two firearms in a car.
Earlier, at around 9:00 AM on June 9th, Pham Manh Tan (52 years old, residing in Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City) drove a luxury car to the My Quy Tay Border Gate Border Guard Station to complete exit procedures.
Upon inspection, authorities discovered that Tan's passport had expired. Furthermore, the individual exhibited several suspicious behaviors.
Further inspection of the suspect's luggage revealed three plastic bags containing a white crystalline substance and powder, along with a handgun, inside a black handbag.
Authorities immediately apprehended the suspect and searched the car, seizing an additional handgun.
The bags of white crystalline solid and powder were examined and identified as ketamine, with a total weight of 3.1317 grams.
Currently, the authorities have initiated legal proceedings to continue the investigation and clarify the matter.
