Speaking at the program, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission reviewed the glorious journey of Vietnam's revolutionary press, and affirmed the particularly important role of the press in the revolutionary cause, from the struggle for national independence to building and defending the Fatherland today.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized: 100 years ago, President Ho Chi Minh used the press to ignite the revolution, and today, the press must continue its mission of building social trust and fanning the desire for prosperity. In a volatile era, when information becomes a sharp weapon, revolutionary journalism must have enough courage to lead ideology, orient public opinion, and maintain its foundation. That is not only a professional requirement, but also a command of the times.

In particular, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission emphasized two key tasks. That is, the press is not only a voice of reflection or propaganda, but also a catalyst, a guiding pen, becoming a creative subject, a constructive force to promote the implementation of the "four pillars" (4 Resolutions of the Politburo on scientific and technological breakthroughs and digital transformation; on private economic development; on innovation in law-making and enforcement and international integration in the new situation) effectively and firmly.

At the same time, in line with the general trend, the press is also merging in a streamlined direction, aiming to become key press agencies, stronger, faster, and more effective. It is necessary to restructure the press system in the direction of key - professional - effective; need a team of journalists who are streamlined but elite, have solid expertise, are rich in courage, maintain ethics, uphold the spirit of humanity, protect justice and reason.

To do that, he suggested that Vietnamese revolutionary journalists need to imbibe and understand more deeply the role, position, function and tasks of revolutionary journalism; at the same time, they need to continue to proactively and creatively deploy information and propaganda work on important political, economic, social, national defense and security tasks of the country.

In particular, in the context of both positive and negative impacts of social networks and other forms of media on the Internet, in order to continue to affirm its position, dominate the information battlefield and maintain its function of guiding public opinion, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department suggested that the press needs to innovate, create, improve the quality, attractiveness and effectiveness of information. To do so, each journalist must constantly strive, constantly cultivate and innovate in journalistic thinking and working methods to bring readers accurate, fast, vivid and attractive information and interpretations.

“After this meaningful meeting, I hope that, with a sense of responsibility and determination, each journalist here will continue to light the fire, spread and pass on the noble mission of revolutionary journalists, firmly bringing the “ship” of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism with the whole nation into a new era - an era of wealth, civilization, prosperity and national growth,” said comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia.
