The program was attended by comrades: Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Le Hai Binh - Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism;…
This event is a deeply meaningful activity aimed at honoring the outstanding contributions of generations of journalists in the glorious journey of the revolutionary press of our country.
The individuals honored have demonstrated their character, intellect, enthusiasm, and responsibility towards the country, the nation, the Party, the State, and especially the people. This is not only an honor for each individual journalist but also a recognition and commendation from the Party and the State for media agencies and journalists nationwide; it is proof of the maturity and development of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism.

Speaking at the program, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia - Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department - reviewed the glorious journey of Vietnam's revolutionary press, while affirming the particularly important role of the press in the revolutionary cause, from the struggle for national independence to the building and protection of the Fatherland today.
Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized: 100 years ago, President Ho Chi Minh used the press to ignite the revolutionary flame; today, the press must continue its mission of building social trust and igniting the aspiration for prosperity. In this era of change, when information becomes a sharp weapon, the revolutionary press must have the courage to guide thought, shape public opinion, and maintain its foundation. This is not only a professional requirement but also a mandate of the times.

In particular, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department emphasized two key tasks. Firstly, the press should not only be a voice for reflection or propaganda, but also a catalyst, a guiding pen, becoming a creative subject and a constructive force to promote the effective and sustainable implementation of the "four pillars" (four Politburo resolutions on breakthroughs in science and technology and digital transformation; on the development of the private economy; on reforming the work of lawmaking and enforcement; and on international integration in the new situation).
Simultaneously, in line with the general trend, the press is also undergoing mergers towards streamlining, aiming to become leading, stronger, faster, and more effective media organizations. The press system needs to be restructured towards a leading, professional, and effective system; it requires a lean but elite team of journalists who are highly skilled, courageous, ethical, uphold humanistic values, and protect justice and righteousness.
To achieve this, he suggested that Vietnamese revolutionary journalists need to deeply understand and appreciate the role, position, function, and tasks of revolutionary journalism; and at the same time, they need to continue to proactively and creatively implement information and propaganda work on important political, economic, social, national defense, and security tasks of the country.

In particular, given the positive and negative impacts of social media and other forms of online communication, in order to continue asserting its position, dominating the information landscape, and maintaining its function of guiding public opinion, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department suggested that the press needs to innovate, create, and improve the quality, attractiveness, and effectiveness of its information. To achieve this, each journalist must constantly strive, continuously improve, and innovate in journalistic thinking and working methods to provide readers with accurate, timely, vivid, and engaging information and insights.
“Following this meaningful meeting, I hope that, with a sense of responsibility and determination, each journalist here will continue to ignite, spread, and transmit the noble mission of revolutionary journalism, steering the ‘ship’ of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism steadily alongside the entire nation into a new era – an era of prosperity, civilization, and national progress,” Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia stated.

On this occasion, the Central Propaganda Department and the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization presented gifts of gratitude to 27 veteran journalists; and also awarded Certificates of Merit to 123 outstanding journalists nationwide for their excellent achievements in the emulation movement to celebrate this important event.
Journalist Ngo Duc Chuyen – Head of the Current Affairs and Politics Department of Nghe An Newspaper – was honored to be one of 123 outstanding journalists nationwide.
