Nghe An Newspaper won the 19th National Press Award in 2024
On the evening of June 21, 2025, in Hanoi, the 100th Anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) and the 19th National Press Awards - 2024 were held with the theme "Steel in the pen - Fire in the heart". Nghe An Newspaper was honored to have an award-winning work, contributing another mark to the journey of affirming the brand of local journalism in the national press arena.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Pham Minh Chinh - Politburo member, Prime Minister; Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; comrades of the Party Central Committee, representatives of many central and local departments, ministries and branches; veteran journalists; authors and groups of authors who won the 19th National Press Award - 2024.

The opening ceremony was an art performance program to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, including 3 chapters: "The Origin of Light", "Resistance - Nation Building - Firm Steps of Faith", "The Sharp Pen of the Era"; recreating the history of Vietnam Revolutionary Press accompanying the great moments of the nation; demonstrating absolute loyalty to the revolutionary path chosen by the Party and Uncle Ho; wholeheartedly serving the country and people.

The National Press Award is a prestigious, annual award approved by the Government and assigned to the Vietnam Journalists Association to preside over and organize. This is a worthy award to honor journalists and excellent journalistic works, making important contributions to the cause of building a modern, humane, and combative Vietnamese press. In particular, in 2025 - the year of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day - the award becomes even more sacred and meaningful.
This year, in the context that many press agencies are restructuring and streamlining their organizations according to the general policy, the National Press Awards still maintain their prestige and influence. There are 1,970 entries from 59/63 Provincial and Municipal Journalists Associations, 17/21 Inter-Associations, 29 Central-affiliated Associations. After the preliminary round, 183 excellent entries entered the final round and 128 entries were honored, including: 13 A Prizes, 27 B Prizes, 49 C Prizes and 39 Encouragement Prizes.

The special feature of this year's award is that for the first time, two new categories have appeared: Multimedia Journalism and Creative Journalism. This reflects the development trend of modern journalism - multi-platform, applying digital technology and conveying attractive, flexible and effective information to readers.
Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association said: Many of this year's award-winning works have been carefully invested in both content and form, demonstrating modern journalistic thinking while still ensuring political, ideological, accurate and strong influence in society. Topics of high topicality such as administrative reform, digital transformation, climate change, education in remote and isolated areas, deforestation, storm and flood rescue activities, good people, good deeds... are vividly expressed, full of emotion, touching people's hearts.
At the ceremony to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day and present the 19th National Press Awards, Comrade Pham Minh Chinh - Politburo member, Prime Minister sent his congratulations to journalists across the country, especially the authors and excellent works honored this year. The Prime Minister acknowledged and highly appreciated the great role of revolutionary press in the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland; affirming that the press is the core force in propagating the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State, and is a bridge between the Party, the government and the people.

The Prime Minister emphasized that in the current period, the press needs to continue promoting the revolutionary spirit, constantly innovating content and methods of expression, proactively participating in digital transformation, fighting corruption and negativity, and contributing to building a socialist rule-of-law state.
Comrade Pham Minh Chinh also requested press agencies and journalists to continue to improve professional ethics, maintain political stance, and accompany the Government and People on the journey of rapid and sustainable national development...

At this year's Press Awards Ceremony, Nghe An Newspaper was honored to win the Encouragement Prize with the work "Resettlement Paradox" by the group of authors Nguyen Xuan Hoang - Ngo Quang An - Nguyen Van Truong. In addition, there were 2 works that made it to the final round including: "Highlands catch up with digital transformation" by author Nguyen Hoai Thu and "Worker security problem in the new situation" by authors Nguyen Diep Thanh - Nguyen Thanh Chung.

At this award, Nghe An Radio and Television Station also had 2 excellent works winning prizes, including: "Heritage from the Heart" - B prize by the group of authors: Thanh Huyen - Khanh Ly - Lang Linh - Minh Tan - Le Mai; Work "OCOP - Many stars have not yet lit up and have gone out", won C prize by the group of authors: Bao Khanh - Hoa Mo - Thuy Vinh - Sy Dat - Phuc Huu.
These achievements not only affirm the quality of content, professional skills and serious and creative journalistic spirit of the team of reporters and editors, but also contribute to raising the position of Nghe An journalism in the flow of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism.
