Nghe An - Hua Phan organizes first provincial-level bilateral patrol
On July 1, at the Vietnam - Laos border area, Nghe An Border Guard coordinated with the Military Command of Hua Phan province, Lao People's Democratic Republic to organize the first provincial-level bilateral patrol on the border section from marker 363 to marker 365.
This is the first time bilateral patrol activities have been upgraded to the provincial level, demonstrating a new development in the coordination mechanism between the two border localities, aiming to enhance the effectiveness of sovereignty protection and maintain security and order in the Vietnam-Laos border area.


The border between Nghe An and Hua Phan is 122.703 km long, with rugged mountainous terrain, many trails and openings, and potential risks.drug crime, smuggling, illegal immigration. The deployment of bilateral patrols at the provincial level is a practical activity to strictly control the border, while strengthening solidarity and cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries.
The Nghe An provincial patrol team is led by Colonel Ho Quyet Thang - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of Nghe An Border Guard; the Hua Phan side is led by Major General Kham Muong Khot Vong Khun - Commander of the Provincial Military Command.


Despite the unpredictable weather, steep and slippery terrain, the two teams coordinated to inspect the current status of the border, border markers and assess the situation in the border area. The results showed that the border marker system remained intact, with no signs of displacement or damage; no encroachment, encroachment or violation of border regulations.
The patrol process was carried out in accordance with procedures, seriously and strictly. Both sides cleaned and repainted the border markers, and recorded the entire patrol process, ensuring border management techniques while demonstrating the sense of responsibility and close coordination of the two forces.


At the end of the patrol, the two sides held a meeting to discuss and draw lessons and agreed on some contents of cooperation in the coming time. In particular, they emphasized the need to continue to exchange information regularly, strengthen the fight against all types of crimes; at the same time, step up propaganda and mobilize people on both sides of the border to strictly comply with the Agreement and Regulations on border management and border gates between Vietnam and Laos.
This provincial patrol activity is a vivid demonstration of the spirit of friendly cooperation between the two armed forces, contributing to maintaining a peaceful and stable border, promoting socio-economic development in border areas and deepening the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
