The Russian government has made an official comment regarding the recent suspension of missile and artillery aid packages for Ukraine by the US Department of Defense.

In an interview with TASS news agency today (July 2), Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented that the West's reduction or cessation of arms supplies to Ukraine reflects that the conflict is nearing its end.

“As far as we understand, the reason for this decision is that the warehouses are empty and there is a lack of weapons. However, in any case, the fact that there are fewer weapons being supplied to Ukraine means that the special military operation is coming to an end,” Peskov said.

Previously, Western media quoted many anonymous senior US officials as revealing that US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had ordered a temporary suspension of sending aid shipments, mainly missiles and ammunition, to Ukraine.

Ukraine denies Russia took control of Dachne village in Dnipropetrovsk

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that the village of Dachne in the eastern Dnipropetrovsk province of the country is still under the control of Kiev.

“Ukrainian units continue to repel Russian attempts to cross the border between the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Despite the enemy’s repeated deployment of infantry and small reconnaissance groups, they have failed to achieve their objectives. In addition, the enemy’s claim to have taken control of the “bridgehead” (village of Dachne) in Dnipropetrovsk region is false information, as the area remains under the control of Ukrainian troops,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a statement on July 2.

According to a map from the Ukrainian website Deep State, the village of Dachne lies close to the border between the two provinces of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk and is still under the control of Kiev forces. The grey zone, the area where fighting between Ukrainian and Russian forces is taking place, is just south of the village.
